ACHIEVE PERFECTION!
Needed to play: 1). Ability to make a Picture File.
2). Ability to post picture in Forum.
3). Google's Search Engine. - No other engine allowed, sorry.
Game Time: Entries begin January 25th, 2011 through February 25th, 2011.
The Task: Hunt for People on Google who have initials AA. They do not have to be famous, but they must be a person.
The Cost & Prizes: This is a FREE GAME! First person to Achieve Perfection with a score of 999, according to the Rules below, will win $1.50. In addition, there is a Second Element to the game, which is also worth $1.50. Possible prize up to $3.00.
Game Rules. Google's response to a search inquiry includes the Number Of RESULTS, and the time it took in SECONDS. Multiply these two numbers, then look at the first 3 digits of this calculation. Perfection is reached at 999.
Examples Above: "
Alcoholics Anonymous" was my first search, though it is not a person, and would not be allowed in the game. The RESULTS rendered by Google were 3,260,000, and it took Google 0.16 seconds. Multiplying these two numbers gives a calculation of 521,600. Looking only at the first 3 digits, gives a SCORE of 521.
"
Abraham Abramovsky" was my second search, and would be allowed, because he is/was a Professor of Law. The RESULTS rendered by Google were 8,110, and it took Google 0.15 seconds. Multiplying these two numbers gives a calculation of 1,216.5. Looking only at the first 3 digits, gives a score of 121.
"
Alan Autry" was my third search, and would be allowed, as he's a famous actor. The RESULTS rendered by Google were 90,100 and it took Google 0.16 seconds. Multiplying these two numbers gives a calculation of 14,416. Looking only at the first 3 digits, gives a score of 144.
The third example would be ahead in the score, not the first search because it's disqualified. Of course, it is possible to get a calculation whereby the first 3 digits would be 999. In which case, this is PERFECTION, and the goal of the game. While the goal of the game is to reach 999 first, it is possible that no one will reach Perfection. In which case, the winner would be the player to reach the highest score, AND be the first person to have posted it! So, there is an element of timing involved. It's also possible the calculation might be something like 0.9715123, in which case the first 3 digits would be 097, giving a SCORE of only 97. Yes, the zero counts!
A Second Element To The Game.As you can see, I've posted a PUZZLE to be solved as well. Behind the numbers are four puzzle pieces scrambled up of a person with initials AA. Each day, I'll uncover a piece of this puzzle, based on the majority's request - or my discretion if no one makes a request. The first person to guess who this picture is of, will win $1.50. Again, only one submission for this puzzle within 24 hours. I will not declare if your answers are right, or wrong until February 26th. So, keep the submissions coming just in case you are wrong.
ALAN ALDA Posting RulesYou may submit only one post within a 24 hour period. Your post must include a screen shot of your Search inquiry, Google's results number, and Google's timing, as I have posted above. I will be verifying all submissions for accuracy, and will void any result I cannot verify. Your post may also include one guess at the Second Element of the game. You may NOT post a second separate post for the second element. It must be included altogether, or not at all. In addition, you may include a request for a piece of the puzzle to be revealed.
Game EndGame will end on February 25th, 11:59p.m. my time (Mountain - Colorado, USA). I'll then tally everything up in time to post the results on February 26th, and award the prize money no later than February 28th, 2011. Good Luck Everyone. If this is successful, we'll play again next month, too.
Small Print: If the Admin(s) of Fusion Cash void this game, so be it. Their decision is final, and no prize money will be awarded. Admin, you're welcome to play as well - bribery is always good, huh?
