Tailgating
« on: January 04, 2011, 01:28:33 pm »
I always wonder why people tailgate.  Do you?  It's always been a habit of mine to stay back, it comes natural, but my boyfriend on the other hand gets so close it makes me nervous!

We have tailgated once before and loved it.  It is fun to see what others have and what food they are about to eat.  I think the next time we tailgate, we will not get tickets to the game and pack up early and drive home to see the game on TV.  You don't have traffic, no long lines to the bathroom, and you can see the game.

I hate people tailgate me, and I don't do so to others.

That's not the tailgating the OP was referring to....

I always tap my brakes when someone is tailgating me.  If they persist, I slow down so they take even longer to get wherever it is they are trying to go.

I'm sure there is some sort of psychological issue with tailgaters. They don't arrive any faster and endanger lives. But I am sure they BELIEVE they are getting to their destination faster. Perhaps they have trouble seeing the big picture and can only focus on what is directly in front of them.

I like to leave some space between me and the car in front of me.  Unfortunately, I must leave a bit too much as sometimes someone will cut in front of me.

If you tailgate, your asking for an accident to happen.   :peace:

I went last Sunday, it's becoming a yearly tradition for my friends and I.  I don't care about the game, team, or any of that, but it's fun to be outside in the freezing cold (for a little bit.)
