How to Handle a Compliment in a Professional Setting
« on: January 04, 2011, 01:26:15 pm »
Like if someone says you are good looking or something, what do you say.  I usually want to slap them if they're rude about it haha, but obviously you can't do that in a professional setting, so how do you handle the situation?

"Thank you"
if they are very inappropriate, you may say "That is not appropriate to say at work"

Or you could say  "thanks, my husband thinks so too"  :)

Say thank you that's all that's need to be said when someone compliments you.

I have always done the STARS approach.  State that you apologize for the situation at hand. Then thank them for bringing to situation to your attention. Show you done action about the situation at hand.  Show that you resolved the situation.  Then you share information on the process of what you did to take care of the situation at hand.

are you sure this isn't for a complaint instead of a compliment???
