Home for sure.  I have not gone out in about 12 years.  I couldn't enjoy myself because I would be so scared about getting hit my a drunk driver based on the statistics of how many people are actually drunk after midnight on New Year's eve.  Or before, for that matter.

Always have stayed in for the last 20 years or so.  Who wants to be on the road with all the drunks?  Since I don't drink, and most friends I have don't either, it's fun to gang up at one of our houses, and hang out with popcorn, soda, pizza, games, etc.  Everybody spends the night, and the house host is taken out for breakfast the next morning.  Later that day some of us have a hugh buffet which is catered by a local hotel, and/or others go their separate ways.

If I'm alone, I'm usually sawing logs by the time the New Year gets rung in....lol

I will probably go out to dinner with the family early and then be home by 8pm. The kids usually shoot off streamers and we play games until midnight. When the kids were younger we use to tell them 11pm was midnight, we celebrated at 11 and then went to bed.

I will go to the church for a mass then go back to home.  No shopping on new years day.

It is my birthday and my extended family spends it at one of my daughter's houses.  We have a buffet, play cards or games and toast in the New Year with nonalcoholic drinks that look like they come in wine bottles.

I definitely prefer to stay in with my boyfriends and watch movies, drink a few girly beers or sparkling cider and head to bed whenever. Anymore it is hard to stay up 'til midnight when I wake up early most of the week.

I'm not sure yet ... either I'll stay in with some friends and make dinner and popcorn and stuff, or I'll go out and party. I dunno. It's a tough choice. :cat:

As I have gotten older I try to stay at home for New Years because there are so many crazy drivers out, but try to have a festive evening with family and friends.
