How do you deal?
« on: December 09, 2010, 12:29:16 pm »
I have a severely energetic kitty who is always causing mischief. She knows she is being naughty yet does it anyways, and the squirt bottle isn't mending her ways! Ahh! Help!! Any tips!?

the squirt bottle trick doesn't usually work. cats act by the energy around them. if a cat senses that someone is hyper, it will be more hyper. i am a very hyper person by nature and my wife is not. when i wasn't home, our cat would be snuggled up by her on the couch. as soon as i'd get home, it'd start acting like a terror! in our case, it was also because our cat was male and thought of my wife as his property. he was really dominant, and didn't want me around her when he was! we finally found him a good home with a female who was single.

just hang in there. sometimes they will settle down with age. also, if you spay or neuter them they will settle down.

I have a great solution for you!!  I just started using it the other day.  Buy yourself a cheap "laser pointer pen" light.  Cats go crazy when you shine it all around them.  Just do not aim it in their eyes.  The laser will keep them entertained for hours on end.
