It is a natural human thing.. babies and children do it not knowing what it is they know it feels good that is it..It is in our biology..Some do it some don't..Sin no I really don't believe so its human nature it is how we are wired we are curious creatures..

Every minister that I know would answer this question differently.  Ultimately, I would say it comes down to each person's own understanding of God and what sin is - in other words, there's no easy answer to this one.  All the texts of know of from the Bible that are applied to whether or not this is sinful are incorrectly applied considering what they were written for.  So to me it really comes down to faith here.

Look up Leviticus chapter 18 in the bible. It talks about unlawful sexual relations. I read it myself and I haven't seen anything there against masturbation. But if you want just to make sure, you can read it yourself. Don't take my word for it.

There comes a point in ones life when you do what makes you happy, which is normal, or you lie to yourself, deny your natural instincts and supress them, which makes you an empty shell for the rest of your life, and do what the bible tells you to do. Part of the reason the divorce rate is high BECAUSE NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY WANT, AND THEY GET ANGRY AND GO OUT AND GET IT SOMEWHERE ELSE INSTEAD OF COMMUNICATING IT WITH THEIR SPOUSE!!! So who cares what the bible says about mastrubation! If you don't know what you like before you lay down with your potential husband or wife, then whats the point of even going down that road?

Leviticus is kind of a funny book anyway ... it also bans eating pig and shellfish, trimming the edge of your beard, rounded haircuts and wearing clothes of mixed fibers, lol. Not going to weigh in with my opinions on masturbation, just wanted to point it out. It's from the Old Testament anyway and it's debatable whether that's applicable ... so you'd want to look to a New Testament source in the first place. But that's a whole other can of worms.
