Pearl Harbor
« on: December 07, 2010, 10:16:33 am »
Does anybody really remember the Pearl Harbor date of December 7th, 1941 and the attack by the Japanese Navy on the bases in Hawaii?  I know I do.  But I am somewhat of a student of military history.

The date is etched in my memory so yeah, every December 7th, when I see the date on the calendar I think to myself "oh, the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack."  It seems like something worth knowing.

I certainly do!!!  I doubt however, that a lot of young folks don't know anything about it.  For all I know, they propably don't even teach it in history classes anymore!!   :'(

We put our flag out today, at half-mast, to honor those who lost their lives in that attack.  That was certainly a horrible time.

I don't remember it personally because I wasn't born till a month later on January 7, but I always will think about what happened on that day.    :peace: :peace:
