Why do you celebrate Christmas??

I do not officially celebrate it anymore. December 25 IS NOT Christ birthday. Santa Clause is a BIG LIE and definately aginst the teachings of Christ. God said that Satan is the fahter of ALL lies, therefore, who do you think is the father of Christmas??

Well Christmas may not be Christs birthday and not sure it ever was meant to be. It is when the 3 wise men got to Christ after a long journey and brought him gifts. I heard it was like a 3 month journey, so maybe he was born in September?

But I love Christmas, it is a beautiful time of the year with lights and food and family and the tree.

I would never get crazy during the holidays and always get presents that are thoughful and from the heart. Like I know my mom loves Barnies coffee so every year I will get her a bag because she doesn't buy it for herself.

My fiance is from Jamaica, so I always end up buying him something with a jamaican flag on it. This year I want to get him some shoes


And everyone else is the same!

   Thanks so much for ALL that information. Some of it I already knew, BUT much of it I did not. I really appreciate it. It should be taught in ALL schools and ALL churches. Ahhh freepcmoney...when you study and find out where most of our cultures holidays come from, you won't be celebrating any of them anymore. Easter, xmas, halloween, etc.

OR...you could just laugh at the past and enjoy the perks like I do. You get to be with family and you exchange a few gifts!

I celebrate Christmas because I think of it as a time to get together with family, and friends.
Kind of like Thanksgiving.. but with lit up trees and presents.

I agree with your statemeent about Christ being born in September.  I belived December was the time of conception.  I belive that is when the Holy Spirit entered Mary's body and nine months later Jesus was born

I believe that family is the only reason we celebrate this holiday because i dont like the gifts i receive.  they are always gifts at the last minute, and just for this moment i find a peace and tranquily among all the people that we see.

Christmas brings out all the thiefs if you ask me. There is more suicide,murders and robbery that goes on at this time so if it is really Christs birthday whom ever would have thought to start all the bull at that time.PLEASE be for real. It is a holiday of expense and we all know these days money and jobs are hard to come by. So lets just be a familyalways and forget all the bull that goes around.

 I saw a sign at a local church this week that reads: "Jesus wasn't born so that we could have a holiday".  I believe that Jesus is the reason for the season, it's about CELEBRATING Jesus.  Many people celebrate the spirit Christmas season brings---
it's nothing new to Christians because they feel it the whole year through.  I don't get into the buying of alot of pricey presents......however, my dogs & cat do get gifts from "Santa".     It's fun for them and they're always so good, I love seeing how excited they get when they find their goodies in their stockings and their presents under the tree.

I celebrate Christmas because it is a rich part of our American Christion heritage. No, it does not matter whether one celebrates or not.
