I don't think I would want a device like that in my car. I am pretty responsible with my cell phone when I drive... I don't text, and I use a my bluetooth if a absolutely need to talk while driving... many times I don't even answer calls while driving.  Don't need "them" regulating every part of my life.

You'll be in BIG TROUBLE for sure if you kill someone or get into an accident by using a cell phone or texting while driving.

I do not think it is a good idea to use your cell phone while you are driving. Too many accidents are caused that way.

That woukld be a great idea, except I think there would need to be a way to use the phone in emergencies.

In the state where I live it is against the law to drive and talk on the cell phone.  Too bad the police doesn't enforce it.  People completely ignore it and noting is being done about although the act itself has caused accidents.

My nephew was in an accident yesterday because he was texting while driving a semi, caused an accident.  He has a ruptured spleen, something wrong with his spine and only has 60% use in his right arm.  They are still doing tests to determine if  surgery is needed.

I hope everything turns out ok!!

I think that using your phone is ok sometimes.TEXTING NO!!! BAD IDEA!!! I think if they want to outlaw cell phone use in a car then they should start with the cops first. I see cops all the time yapping away on the phones or better yet messing on the computers they have in the cars....what is any different than texting?  Before outlawing talking on the phone i think they should try enforcing hands free and see how that works, that way you can have 2 hands on the wheel!

I don't think the driver of the vehicle should be using a cell phone while driving.  But the passengers should be free to use them so I am not in favor of banning the cell phones while the car is in drive.

:star: I agree that cellphones and driving don't mix. It would be silly of anyone to think there is no danger involved. I like to think that I personally can talk and drive just fine,.... probally like most, .... but I'm smart enough to know and understand that it does take attention away from what you should be focused on 100%... yeah, the road!

Texting is worse. Texting is a little more complex than flipping open your phone and saying hello. Texting takes much more of your focus off the road where it belongs. I've been passenger with many 'texters' and have come very close to many rear end accidents.... because driver was texting, and not paying attention to the road.

I don't think however and sort of device should be inside your vehicle that denies the ring of your cellphone. For those of us who are a little more careful with our phones and prefer to take up the option of pulling over to engage in phone conversation' I don't think it would be right to block our phones from ringing in the car. It could be important, damnit, and I spend a lot of time on the road. This sort of block would be wrong.

My state of Wisconsin, within the last few days implemented the NO TEXTING WHILE DRIVING LAW. Fine is approx $200.00 for getting caught texting while driving. Police Officer has the right to confiscate your phone for investigation...
