Who cares if they've been in more relationships than you? That age-old adage "quality over quantity" especially applies to your own life and the people you share it with. Sure, she may have more "experience", but who knows for how long each one lasted. Honestly, if she's going through boyfriends like bottles of water, then I don't think she's in any position to offer you sound relationship advice.

I agree with Loft...I think it's a red flag if they can't keep a relationship...get advice from them if you're trying to get out of the relationship, not when you're trying to stay in one. Good luck with the relationship! And you should really be talking to the other person in the relationship...not third parties.  ;)

Relationship advice is just like any other advice, consider the source.  Also, it comes down to what you feel is right.  You can listen, but you have to do what is best for you.  Good luck!

I would wonder about getting advice from someone that has no relationship or has had too many relationships.  It is like living you gotta work at it mostly if you are yourself and trust your heart and your gut most times you will survive just be aware of the red flags you know the ones that make you stop and think!!! Good Luck

In the end, the advice should come from someone you deeply trust and should be one of your best longtime friends. The result of the advice given, could have a positive or negative effect, but since it's coming from someone you trust, you won't hold them against it.

This question could be answered in various ways....pro and con.  Girlfriends tend to get together and talk about their relationships.  Men do to, but they won't admit it.  Relationship advice should come from someone you trust and/or have trust in their own ability to handle a relationship.  Parents are good sources because they've been there and done that.  Also....any couple that have been together for an extended time.  If you attend church, there are wonderful counselors and clergy that can help you.

Most the time it's your "gut' feeling about something in the relationship that gives you an answer.  We feel something is "off", but don't know what it is.  That's when you get the other person (in the relationship), and have a talk.  If that person clams up, or won't talk to you, it's time to move on.  I know this sounds harsh, but many couples spend more time in a bad relationships than they should.  I can't tell you how many times I've heard "I should have left a long time ago".  I'm not talking about marriages.

On the flip side, relationships take work and there are no perfect unions.  Even when something is wrong, it can be remedied by talking it out.  No communication is the death knoll to relationships.  That, and dishonesty.  If you can talk things out with your significant other, and be honest, your ahead of the game.  Loyalty comes in neck and neck with the above.

A friend doesn't like to see their friends hurt so they say things that they think the other wants to hear. Sometimes the advice given is not always the best.

I completely agree. When a friend comes to me with a relationship problem, I do my best to tell them the hard honest truth and just hope that they make the right decision for them and their partner.
