There is no way to get referrals!

You see, I am young and not many people my age are interested in this type of online stuff. I got one friend to join and that is all. I also made a YouTube video trying to get some referrals, but they aren't working. Any suggestions? I'm not apart of any forums/communities.

Do a Google search for social networking and you can find plenty of them. If you want the best ones, find me outside the forum and I can share the ones I use.

I am a newbie myself.... but have included my referral banner to the bottom of my outgoing emails when communicating with friends and colleagues.... (we'll see if this catches any attention..) and maybe an idea for others...  Social networking sites as stated within the forum allready appear to be the best place for posting your referral banners and actually having some success... Consistent, yes. Great! Also be CREATIVE! Look for my other posts around the forum about referrals. I'm sprinkling ideas all over the place, hehe. Sometimes, we have our faces so stuck into a computer monitor, we tend to forget there are billions of people around us in the "real world". Like church, work, school, etc.

Like, how about a school baseball game? Print up a flyer, and pass it out to all the people in the bleachers. Forget about the game, who cares who wins or loses. You'll be there to drum up business for yourself with referrals.

That's a great idea.  Staying with it over a period of time is what makes it all work in the end.

Just a question; if I print out my referral am I able to hang these in different places around town that will aloow me to? I have my referral on facebook but so far nothing. Does anybody know how this idea would work if it was not misleading in any way?

Okay, the key words here are "that will allow me to?" Um yeah, if they allow you to, go for it! Have you ever used a public restroom? Oh wait, don't answer that, I don't wanna know, hehe. Why couldn't you leave your referral on the toilet paper dispenser in the stall? Next person will at least have something to read? And why stop at just putting your referral link on the piece of paper? Spice it up. Say something like, Congrats, you just found $5.00 today! Follow this link next time you're at your computer to grab it.

If you're doing offline marketing, you should use a URL redirection service (e.g. http://tinyurl.com/) to shorten/simplify your referral link.  If you're really serious, you can spring for a domain name (.info is usually just $1-2 per year) and redirect it to your referral link.  Many members are already using these strategies.

I had not thought about doing referrals offline by leaving them in public places like you are suggesting.  That is an awesome idea.  We have many grocery stores and colleges that have message boards of people looking for ways to earn extra income.  Thank you for the wonderful advice!

The other thing you can do is use subdomains, so the price comes down to $2/99 or 2 cents each redirect. Most registrars let you have 99 of them on each domain.
