I've heard that about diet soda too, that it's worse than regular soda. Me personally I don't like the way diet sodas taste as opposed to regular soda so I don't drink them. I go through periods where I'm off soda for a while and then I go back. While I'm having a pop a day I am drinking a lot more water these days which I'm proud of. Just need to get back off the soda.

it contains aspartame, and unlike high-fructose corn syrup in regular soda (you could develop obesity or diabetes over time),  it can instantly kill you.  It's a chemical poison.

Stop being dramatic.  The only way aspartame will kill you is if you consume it in quantities that are impossible for a human to consume in one sitting.  All of those tests that say it causes cancer have been shown to be inconclusive.  If it wasn't safe, it would have a warning label like cigarettes do.

I say enjoy your Diet Coke, because you may be hit by a bus tomorrow, and then it will never have mattered worrying about "potential" health risks.

I drink diet soda, but only 1-2 servings a WEEK. Remember as long as you consume everything in MODERATION, there is nothing wrong and it won't cause a concern to your health. I agree with Cuppycake and that coke zero has a natural sweetner (Truvia) and it tastes awesome! Now, when I drink regular soda I dislike it and really don't care for it anymore, unless it is a special occasion or family gathering.

I drink very little soda, but will usually have a diet one when I do indulge.  I also don't do caffeine so I am limited to my choices.  Regular soda is way too sweet for me.

I've heard diet soda is bad too.  I drink a lot of water, but sometimes just want/crave the fizz that a soda has.  I drink Diet Coke then.

In moderation, I think it is ok.

I guess it depends on how your body handles it. I don't do diet sodas because of the after taste.

I think diet drinks are worse for you than regular soda because of the artificial sweeteners plus I've never had one that tasted good. I would like to see more sodas made with sugar instead of HFCS though.

Basically Everything in this Life is 'Bad for You'. Scientists are always contradicting themselves and their studies. One minute eggs are the greatest thing for you to consume, next thing you know they're stating that they aren't so good for you. So which is it?!
In my personal opinion, the question of 'Is ____ Good Or Bad For You?' is relative. Many things are neither strictly bad or strictly good, there is a large amount of 'grey area'. So I say, if you enjoy diet soda, drink it; if you enjoy regular soda, drink it. But drink a 'healthy' balance of it along with water. Our bodies need natural products, like water, not tons & tons of artificial or processed nonsense.

I agree with ShadeTree. In order to stay healthy, we need to get as close as to Monther Nature, not to man-made stuff.
Try to drink more tea made from real tea leaves, and stay away from soft drinks.
