The employment outlook was also less pessimistc. The percentage of consumer expecting more jobs in the months ahead increased to 20 percent from 14.2 percent while those anticipating fewer jobs decreased to 25.2 percent from 32.5 percent. While the confidence is still weak it seems like the worse is behind us.

I haven't seen any statistics but i would have a hard time believing anything is getting better.  If anything it seems to be getting worse.

I can't help to agree with bigfoot here. I haven't exactly taken a look at the big picture in a while (seems the more I do the more discouraging things seem). But I can say that on a personal level survival is getting harder day after day.

In my field of education things aren't getting any better. Both the Federal and state governments keep cutting the education budget. It is hard anymore to offer enough classes so the kids can get a good education.

Thanks everyone! That's what I thought when I heard about those statistics. It's not getting any better for me either in the secretarial field!
