Kim,

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope yours was a good one too.  Mine came and went without much ado.  I bought a pizza for my son and myself.  Didn't mail one card and only gave verbal greetings to my daughters and grand-kids.  Mood isn't festive.

Rainy and cold here.

Kim

I would like to know what state we all live in, I live in Georgia. In my mailorder business I always like to receive mail from my fellow Georgians. It puts a little fun in the business.

Happy Valentine's Day to all! Another rainy day in Georgia. Hope all is well with you all.

I have been very busy, my financial class has started at my church, this is the second year and it is going very well. We are learning marketing techniques right now. The class is based on scripture. Every class member have to sell themselves next Sunday, it was fun hearing about the different businesses that we are in.

Now Faith Profits us all!!!

Your class sounds really neat!  Have fun next Sunday with that!  Hope this week is going well for you.  :)

I didn't mail any this year nor call anyone.  Only us 4 here in our home had pizza here and gave each other candy and a card.  It was nice with that.

With my appts, out of town today, I thought it very strange that DIL was following me twice and went on her way around me when I'd turn into the drs. office and the hospital entrance.   They are both in the area that we all lived in before we moved.  Her parents live in that area, too.

I did get my tests and asthma infusions done.  I had a reflux attack at the drs. office - and ended up also having an ekg - because she wanted to make sure it wasn't my heart.  The reflux triggered an asthma attack there, too.   The ekg was kind of okay - but she wants me to go to a cardiologist for a more in depth test.  I don't want any more tests right now.  I've gone thru so many lately and can't handle the idea that there's a new thing to look at now.  The dr. (also a personal friend) must have hugged me 3 or 4 times and asked me to please trust her on this.  I'm waiting a least a month, though - she did say within 2 to 4 weeks.

Thoroughly tired out and weak tonight.  With the normal puny from the shots, and then the other stuff done - it was a lot for me.  Hope you are doing okay.  Maybe we'll cross paths tomorrow.

Later friend,

Julie  :)

I know that we are all busy here, but when any of you get a moment to spare can you give me some suggestions on how not to be nervous speaking in front of a room full of people. Especially people you know.
Hi Everybody,

I am trying to promote my advertising business to a group of people at my church. I have to speak for 1 whole minute which seems like such a long time, lol.  If you want to make it fun, you can give me a 1 minute speach and I will post Sunday night which one I used.

My main focus is on getting the word out about new businesses, small businesses and home businesses. Just getting the word out about businesses. So far this is what I am practicing:

"Hi My name is Maxine, I noticed you have some advertisements on your car. I have an advertising business called xxxxxxxx and I would love to give you some pro bono advertising if you care to advertise. Most of my clients say that they receive a 90% increase in foot traffic after I put multiple thousands of circulars in their business area. Here is my card, if you decide to advertise give me a call".

Please feel free to critique this, and thanks in advance for your help.  I was not sure if I could put the name of my business, I don't want anybody getting in trouble trying to help me. If I say or do something wrong please let me know, I am so new at the forum thing!

Max,

They say to picture the audience naked but I just can't muster up that thought.  I'm taking communications too and have to give speeches, one today as a matter of fact, so I'm nervous about it too.

I'm older than the rest of the group though so I just think of them as sweet little puppies and go about my old lady business.

Hello to everyone.  In a hurry as usual.  Have a wonderful day.

Hi Julie, I hope you feel better soon. I fell about 6 months ago and pulled a muscle in my thigh. I moved a cinder block and a really fast blue snake came from under it. I should have known better than to go out in the rain to collect stuff to build a house for a pig. Yeah a pig! You know those clogs people ware everywhere, well that is what I had on; when I turned to run one leg went to the east and the other went west, lol. We ended up getting a large dog house for her.

Here is the kicker!!! Yesterday I was in the kitchen and looked out the window and the pig was rooting very strangely so I decided to go see what she had found. Well, I had a flashback to when I fell fooling with her before. I looked at my feet and said "oh my these are the shoes I had on when I fell the last time" so silly me said to myself, well I wont be moving anything so I should be ok. Can you guess what happened? That's right, it was raining and I fell again. I told Nellie (the pig) "I don't know if something is wrong with me or you". Just in case somebody saw me fall, I kept talking to the pig as if she was going to help me. Because I had no plans on going anywhere I had on white sweats and a white t-shirt. Needless to say, I was full of mud, but not hurt. Thank God. ;D

Goodness Maxine,  I'm glad and relieved you are okay.  You could have really hurt yourself pretty bad.  Sorry about that first fall - I'm glad the snake raced away instead of at you - I would have totally panicked myself.  Hope you aren't too sore from this current fall.

I like your name Nellie for your pig.  Thanks for the well wishes.  I'm always puny for a couple of days after my asthma infusions.  :)

Oh Julie...sorry about you not feeling well and sorry about the loss of your friend too.

Hoping the best for everyone.

Kim

Thank you for both.  Jena's funeral is tonight.  I'm still really off kilter today, including the neck pain clear down through my leg.  I really want to go, though.

Hope things are better right now for you.  Talk to you later.

Julie  {{hugs}}

Oh Maxine, I'm afraid I'd have done more than fall and pull a muscle if a snake startled me!  Mice and snakes don't typically scare me if I know they are there first but let one pop up unexpectedly and I scream like a little girl and it's hard telling what bones, muscles or underwear might suffer.  They say a sprain is sometimes worse than a break.

You just keep on talking to that pig girlfriend.  She might have some words of wisdom that you can share with us on here.  Be sure to let us know.

As to the name Nellie...well, my best friend, close as a real sister's, name is Nellie.  She hates her name.  She has a sister Della and we always would taunt them with either "the cow kicked nellie in the belly in the barn or Della Dawn what's that flower you have on".  Thankfully they never related a song to my name...which is Kim.

Julie,,,,I'm just so sorry you are feeling so badly.  They gave me an allergy test the other day too but all I'm allergic to is dust and dust mites.  Just knowing that fact made me itch even more.  Aren't the series of shots supposed to make you progressively less allergic?  I guess I don't understand all that much yet but there is a girl in our office who deals strictly with allergies.  She is off sking in Denver this week but I intend to spend more time with her and ask her about her skills.  I think I'd enjoy doing what she does.  Let me know if you have any questions you'd like her to answer...free!

Hi Kim,

Thanks for the offer of free answers - I may just take you up on that, lol.  I'm doing better today.  The shots really are working - it's been a little at a time - but they're working.  It's just the couple of days afterward that I feel puny.  With the other pain I have, it just seemed a lot worse.  But with the shots, I haven't had bronchitis for several months!!  The amount and severity of coughing has also lessened; not gone but an improvement.  I have used the nebulizer way less; my inhaler I still use about the same.  Overall, though, they are definitely helping me a lot.  So, I don't mind the couple of puny days when they are helping me!  :)

I have my SSDI lung function test Monday morning at the hospital.  And I faxed my latest (Degenerative Disc Disease) results to my SSDI case worker to update my files.

I've started meeting, by phone once a week for a month, with a "Life coach" to help me with the "emotional and situational" (lowness) that we both have been dealing with.  With all of the health issues and tests going on; stress of financial difficulties; my son situation - my screening shows a definite need for this.  After the month, it will probably merge into what you do with meeting someone.  The meds only help with some of it - but not all of it.  I wasn't going to, but decided I'd better for the sake of my health and my family.  Plus, you are an inspiration with what you are going through and meet with someone - so I agreed.  I'm kind of relieved now that I agreed.  We had our first phone meeting yesterday to do the screenings and evaluations.

How are you doing?  How is your son doing?  I hope he's feeling better.

That sounds interesting with the allergy testing.  I can't stand having it done (twice now) with so many pricks and all; and I honestly don't know if I could handle doing the pricking either, lol.  I'm a wimp about needles, boo hoo!!   :'(    How are things going with your classes and interning?  I hope you are getting the rest you need, too.

Please take care of you, treat yourself special this weekend, and hopefully we can talk again soon!

Julie  :)    :cat:

Julie,

I'm glad you are feeling some better and that the shots do seem to be making an improvement.  Meeting with a life coach seems interesting.  I have a friend that does that and I've thought about working with her.  You'll have to let me know what tips your person is giving you.

I took my son back to his girlfriends family Friday night.  He had stopped the one medication and was some better except that he was sleeping a lot more and getting grouchy.

I spent yesterday cleaning the house and doing laundry.  More of the same today but I'm going to take a run to the grocery store this morning and then hunker down for some homework.  We're supposed to have a winter storm heading this way.  My daughter, in Beckley, WV, could get 6-10 inches.  I'm not sure what they are calling for in our area yet but want to have a few staples in before the weather gets bad.  I don't have school Monday morning but will be interning in the afternoon.  Bob should be home on Tuesday.

Classes are going pretty well.  I'm really enjoying our Communications class.  It's like seeing the movie Larry Crowne.

As to treating myself special this weekend...I plan on taking a soaking oil bath to soften up my feet.  Ahhhhh....there is nothing like a hot bath to soothe the soul.
