I am twenty six will a college degree and a ton of student loans that come along with it.  I can't get a suitable job that uses my degree and allows me to pay off my loans and other bills.  So basically I am like everyone else who recently graduated from college.

Getting the degree is a great achievement in itself.  Having loans is not fun.  But not being able to get a job with that degree is frustrating.  May I ask what your major is?  I sure hope there will be a job available for you soon.

Hi Kim,

You are having a busy schedule meeting with all of your family.  That's great - it's really like Christmas!  I hope you had it easier shopping today than if you had gone all night.  It's amazing hearing how many people were out there, including my 2 sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephew.  They had every place strategically planned so they could also be one of the ones to get the free first gifts at the door.  My MIL backed out from going with them like she usually does - she said she was too tired this year to keep up, lol.  My niece, who is still a newlywed, has shopped at JC Penney's (with her mom for most of these years) and has always been able to get a free snowglobe.  She went to the Mall of America (near where she and her hubby live now) and got one herself during the night.

Randal never showed up at his grandparents (like they were hoping he would) and has never called any of the family.  So last night I sent him a private message letting him know how his huge family has missed welcoming him home and had hoped to see him and the girls yesterday.  I asked him if he would please call one of his grandparents, his dad, or me, just to touch base with his family.  I also told him that I would like to close the police report with no charges if he would call and discuss with me what I had in mind.  (Roddy, Veronica, and I have discussed this and feel like charges would be dropped if we and they could come to an agreement about keeping the girls involved with both families.  If he wants to turn away from his family, then that's something we would have to let him do, but the granddaughters need both families.  At this point we haven't been allowed to see them anyway.  So if he ignores the message or won't agree because of her, then we'll do what needs to be done.  It's not right that Veronica loses all of the appliances she worked so hard to get and at the same time knowing Bon's mom has them in her house.  I can't let my daughter down either.  But to see the girls on a consistent basis would be wonderful for all of us.  Randal knows I'm trying to keep the charges gone, also, so that it doesn't affect him getting "Officer" in March, with the Navy.  If this is still important to him, then hopefully he will work with me.)

I'm enjoying my family being back home today.  The kitties are still surrounding me - I guess they know I don't feel too swift - they seem like little mother hens!

Talk to you later!  Thanks for all of your friend support - that is definitely what I needed!

Julie        :cat:

Julie,

I sure hope your son responds in a favorable way.  I know you are trying to do the right thing, more than right, and surely he will see that too.  He is probably between a rock and a hard place because he has the children and wants to hold on to that relationship.  If he was to separate from her she sounds like the vindictive type and he'd probably have to fight to keep his relationship with his children.

My son, daughter and grand-daughter and Bob and I went to breakfast together yesterday then he went to Erie to get his car and the rest of us went shopping. John-Michael went home in the afternoon and I made lasagna.  Jess and Amya joined us for dinner but then everyone left and the house became quiet.

More visiting today then everyone returns home.  I have scads of laundry and some homework to do so things will remain busy but it's going to seem calm around here compared to the whirlwind.  It's been fun though.

What are your plans for the rest of the weekend?

Kim,

I hope he responds favorably, too.  His sister sent him a Happy Thanksgiving text with "Love you Nan" yesterday.  So far, we've heard nothing back on any of it.  :(
Veronica's gotten to the point she's ready to give up and move on without him.  I do know how she feels but Roddy and I are still trying to give him a chance and encourage her to hang in there a bit longer.

Yes, calling your Thanksgiving days a whirlwind is a good way to put it.  I'm glad you were able to enjoy your family.  Today is pretty much a catch up day trying to spruce things back up, laundry, etc.  We did get the mantle decorated for Christmas, along with lights on the tree.  Good start, I'd say, for us!

I've been cooped up in here, being down with this mess I'm having, but am getting cabin fever.  Roddy or Veronica or both are going to take me out for awhile and at least go to the Dollar store for a few little things.  I was going to go but they said they would take me so I could enjoy the scenery, lol.  It will feel good to get out!

I noticed you started playing Ravenwood Fair, too.  I really like that game a lot, especially once the trees got cleared.  Problem with those trees, though, is they constantly grow back unless you place paths down, lol.  But, at the same time, the trees give us the wood we need for the buildings.  I'm enjoying Ravenskye, too.  I like the way they intertwine with each other.  There is also Ravenwood Mine, but I don't care for that one as much so I hardly ever go in there anymore.

Enjoy your calmer weekend!

Julie,

I hope you got out for a bit last night.  Even a ride in the car to see Christmas lights might make you feel better.  Any word yet?

Yes I've been playing both games.  I pop in and out throughtout the day for  a little break.  You usually can't stay long because you run out of energy so it is easier on me to quit than playing something like bejeweled that is just endless.

We had lunch with my grand-daughter, her husband and my kids from WV.  The WV group is now home and the others are leaving for Cali today.  Bob and I just snacked last night and I worked with some pine cones that I had picked from the ground at Jen's the other day.  The are real sappy so I baked them on foil in the oven to open them up and get the sap off.  I'll put them in bags today with adhesive and glitter and cinnamon oil so I can make little baskets to give as gifts.

I have all of Bob's race clothes to wash today and we'll have those ready to pack for his next trip, which we think he'll leave for on or about Christmas day.

We were asked to watch Amya Monday but surprisingly he said no.  He said he has things he wants to do, in addition to relaxing.  I too have homework I need to do as there is a test on Tuesday in Patho and I have several Word projects I need to work on.  English is always lurking in the background too.  I spend hours on that but am determined to get 100 percent in each module.  You wouldn't believe how intense the English is.  It might come easier for you than me though.

Well gonna run.  Dishes are already soaking in the sink, the washer is running.  I slept in until 6:30 and I feel like I'm running behind schedule.

Praying you get word from your son today.

Hi Kim,

Ergghhh!  I hate when I write a message and then I hit a button and all of it vanishes.

Thank you for praying.  Randal did call me today.  It was very low-keyed and emotional for both.  I'm honestly not sure how things will go, at least right away, but we were able to discuss things.  I told him I would drop the charges but he understands he still needs to consider his sister and her stolen items.  He agrees the girls should be coming up here, but hems and haws when talking about speaking with Bon.  I can tell he's afraid to push any buttons with her.  He asked me to give him a couple of weeks and that he'll call back to talk about how it's going with her.  I told him that we and my MIL and SIL, want to take the girls to Adventure Landing over Christmas.  They have it totally decorated like a snowy fairy-tale land with miniature golf, rides, games, and stores.  I told him that we are also offering a chance for him and her to get away for a weekend and we would keep the girls over a Christmas break weekend.  I just don't know, though.  Things were just not the same.  I am thankful, at least, that he did call.

That's a neat idea using the pinecones and making little baskets.  I've never heard of baking them to get the sap off.  I've learned something else new from you again, thank you very much!  Lol!

I hope Bob won't have to leave before or on Christmas day.  That would be hard for both of you.  Are any of you kids coming back then?

I'm impressed he said no to the babysitting.  That was nice for you both so you can get things done.  Good luck on your Tuesday test and I hope you are able to get a lot of the projects done.

Well, I'm going to go fix me a late meal!  I'll "see" you tomorrow, my friend.

Yippee!  I'm so glad your son called.  Did he mention not calling his sister on her birthday?

The place you want to take the girls sounds really neat.  We took our kids through the local Kraynak's which is all animated for the holidays too.  It was funny though because we had to stand in line for so long to get in and by the time we got through it I was doing the pee pee dance and had to run to find a bathroom.  Thought I wouldn't make it!  I was about plowing people over getting to the potty.  My kids were laughing at me of course.

Got all the pinecones baked and ready to go.  I just need some spray adhesive to get the glitter to stick, only some of them, and then will place them in bags with the cinnamon scent to soak until I'm ready to give them away.  I need to do some cookie and bread baking in the meantime.

Bob said he might have to leave on Christmas day.  I'll be off school until the 2nd of January.  If I just had the money I could fly down to FL for one week with him.  Oh well I start my internship some time in January so I'll probably have loads to do to get ready for that .

Off I go to work on my homework.  Glad i have another day off to get things done.

TTYL,

Kim

Yay, Dianna!  Glad to see you back in here!  I know I've chatted with you some on FB, but it's nice to chat in here, too.  I'll be checking out your craft page again to see what you have added.  You are doing great!  Now I just still need money, lol.  I'm sorry about that annoying tooth.  Aren't you supposed to go back to the dentist after the new year starts?  I sure hope he can help you with it.  I agree about meds making you feel lazy.  I'm on a couple like that myself.  Alright, now, take care of yourself and that tooth!!  :)

Kim,

No, sadly, he didn't say anything about not calling her nor his dad on their birthdays.  I just don't feel real positive yet about how things went.  We'll know soon enough if he follows through on calling me back in a couple of weeks and letting me know about a couple of things, including letting the girls come up for a weekend.  He agrees about them, yet he did not really commit and he hemmed and hawed so much regarding Bon.

You painted a funny picture about having to go to the restroom so bad, about knocking people over, lol!!  That sounds like a neat place, too.

You are making progress with Christmas gifts.  Veronica and I are going over some recipes for cookies, breads, and cakes that we would like to try.

That stinks that Bob may have to leave on Christmas day.  That would have been wonderful if you could have been able to afford to come with him.  Maybe later, right?

Wow - internship coming up!  Girl, you are getting closer to that finish line!!  Not too much longer!  I'm glad you had another day off today.

Hope you have a great and relaxing evening with Bob.  I'll catch you later!

Julie  :)

I am 25 as of November 25th, I know young, I have worked in the medical field for at least five years and went into the military where I met my husband. I have a gorgeous 6 month old baby boy and I am currently unemployed. I write, and record music, love singing and am looking to become a songwriter full time. My ambitions include owning and selling property and hopefully one day opening a program for trouble teens like boot camp but something of higher standard for low income families as well as a rehabilitation help center for battered woman with children.

Wow you are one busy bee and although you're only 25 you sound very mature for your age.  Best of luck to you with all of your endeavors.  Your goals are certainly heartfelt.

Hello Julie and Dianna,

I'm combining responses here this morning as I'm in a bit of a rush.  I spent too much time chopping down trees, mining rocks and walloping bears this morning.

We are on our third day of steady rain here.  I got one sock monkey hat done and another one started.  The go pretty fast and I can knock one out in a day or two.  I'm wanting to make a couple of angry bird hats too.  I'd post on FB but they are Christmas gifts and the people I'm giving to would see them.  I guess I could post on here...I'll take pictures soon.

Gotta run.  Treat yourself to something special today and take just 5 minutes to just close your eyes and meditate.  I will too.

Later ladies.
