Julie,

I hope you get to go to your craft fair today too.

I came home, feeling totally exhausted.  I've been feeling that way a lot lately.  My legs even get to feeling rubbery.  I had some garlic a friend had given me that is supposed to be planted, after a frost, during the new moon, by November 16th (her recommendation) so I dug up a little area and got that in the ground.

While I was talking on the phone with a friend I started pulling that morning glory away from the chair on the patio and that started a major clean up project.  It wasn't planned because I definitely didn't think I had the energy to do it when I got home.  I ended up taking all of the vines off the front steps and railing too.  Good thing because now I can decorate the front porch for Christmas.

Bob and I went out to dinner and were thinking about a movie but decided we were too tired.  We came home, I crashed and he watched an old Jimmy Stewart movie.

I do have scads of homework for the weekend but will go to the yard sale, craft show and get the tires done this morning before digging into the school work.  I'll probably spend most of the day tomorrow on it too.  I have all of his race gear washed and ready for him to pack.  He has a method to packing that works great for him.  All of the clothes are folded and rolled.  X amount of each clothing type, depending on how many days they are on the road.  He has a bunch of computer gear he takes too so that's all neatly packed.  It's funny but it works for him.

Well darling I gotta run.  Bob just got up and I want to share a cup of morning coffee with him before we start our day.

Later!

Hi Kim,

I'm sorry about your exhaustion thing going on.  I know you've got to be tired out with everything on your plate the last several months.  Maybe stress, too?  I hope it gets better for you.  I still have the slight shaking with my arms and legs when I'm doing too much or going past what I can handle.  Just try not to overdo, okay?

Yes, you should have known once you start on something (like pulling morning glory away from the patio chair) that you won't stop unless it's finished, lol.  But on the other hand, now it's ready to be decorated!  Veronica started today with a little decoration - she loves it us here with us and is ready to start getting ready for Christmas so we can enjoy it longer!  She packed up the Halloween items, but we're leaving the pumpkins and leaves and fall candle holders out for Thanksgiving.  She's decorating the fireplace mantel.  The mantel is pretty much Roddy's show-off things (steins, eagles, Randal's Navy pics, and a couple of his Marine mementos.) Veronica and I were in shock, lol, when he told her she could pack up everthing so she could decorate it for Christmas.  After Christmas, his goes back up.

I ended up not going today.  The aching and stiffness, combined with puny and weak, was a little more than I cared to deal with going anywhere.  All of our windows are open - it's so nice and cool out.  I've got the best spot on the comfy couch with 3 large windows - I love it!  I've been taking Ibuprofen for the aching (800 mgs 3 times a day) and it's helping a little.  I hope this goes away by tomorrow.

Bob's packing sounds helpful and organized in a way that's easy for him.  I guess he's got it nailed down to exactly what he needs.  He's been to Las Vegas before  hasn't he?

Speaking of Jimmy Stewart movies, I have a couple of his that I like.  One of them is when he breaks his leg and is stuck home for awhile in his apartment.  He starts spying on everyone in the complex with his binoculars just to pass the time and ends up hearing a woman being killed.  Kind of like an Alfred Hitchcock thriller.  I love the Christmas movie with him, "It's a Wonderful Life."  I've seen him in other movies, but those 2 I have.

It sounds like you have a busy study weekend.  How was your yard sale and craft show?  Did you get some new ideas?  Let me know!  I hope you have a nice Sunday.  Talk to you tomorrow.

Julie,

I got my tires on the car yesterday and also ended up replacing a tie rod.  There goes the budget but it is driving nicely and I feel much safer for the winter and while Bob is away from home.

I didn't get much school work done yesterday.  After being out of the house all morning, I just couldn't wrap my head around studying.  I'm hoping for a better day today.

I looked up the Jimmy Stewart movie you were talking about.  It was called Rear Window.  I think I saw it years ago but it would be neat to watch it again.

We got a couple of things at the yard sale.  I got a really pretty necklace and a sweater with a black cat silouette with a small ball of unraveled yarn beside it and fish buttons for 2.00.  It has open crochet sleeves and is the Christopher Banks brand name.  It's pretty and will be fun to wear.

Sorry you didn't get to go on your outing.  Hoping you feel better today and do something fun.  I think I'll feel better if I can just get on top of this homework.

Have a great afternoon.

Hi Kim,

That was a good deal for those items.  They sound neat!  About the car, I feel safer for you feeling safer (kind of a ramble of words, but you know what I mean.)

I can't blame you one bit about not studying yesterday.  After all, your brain just plain needed a rest.  Hope it did you good and maybe you can get some done today.  Sunday's are hard, though, for doing things you don't want to do, lol.  I hope you and Bob have a nice day, today.

I'm feeling much better today.  The aching and stiffness are still here, but have eased up quite a bit, with staying on the Ibuprofen.  I'm not as weak either, yay!
The only thing was about 3:30 a.m., was when my reflux kicked in and gave me a hard time, which then started the coughing.  I got up and took a "swig" of Mylanta that I keep in the fridge (Roddy calls it my secret beer drinking, lol.)  I did my inhaler, and after awhile, I had to take the cough medicine.  Finally, about 4:30 things improved.  I hate when that happens.  I shouldn't have eaten pizza for supper but that's what everyone had so I ate it, too.  Next time, I'll put mine up and fix me something else.

All three kitties are surrounding me on the couch.  One's at my feet, one's above my head, and the other is above my feet.  They've all bathed, and each are either purring or cat napping.  What would we do without our little friends?  Two of them came in early this morning checking on me when I was coughing, and stayed with me afterwards.

We haven't heard from Randal today nor have we seen any updates on his FB page.  The last entry was him coming in today.  It's almost like we can't even welcome him back or be joyful that he's returned because of this horrible situation.  No matter what, though, I am very thankful that he is back on American soil, safe and unharmed.

I hope you have a great rest of the day.    ya! :)

Kim,

I just checked his and her FB pages - her new profile pic was just changed showing them in the airport hugging.  So he's back - at least that much we know.

Julie,

I'm glad you know that your son is home.  Just a few more days, I would think, and you'll hear from him.  Like you said it's nice to know he is home and safe.

The cat has started coming in the house more now that it's colder.  She still wants to just slink off into the basement though.  She did come to the kitchen doorway and sit for a bit yesterday but she is still not comfortable enough to take up residence on a chair.  It'll take time but she'll settle in I think.  I love the sound of a purring cat and my dogs love the kittie too.

I finally got a chunk of my homework done yesterday and it was an all day job!  Using my brain wears me out almost as much as physical activity.

I made a pot of minestrone and it fed us last night and it will again tonight.  No applause though as it's one of those Bear Creek mixes and all I did was add the cooked hamburger and some water and put the lid on the pan but it's really yummy.

Later lady... Hang in there and think those positive thoughts.

Kim

Kim,

It sounds like the kitty is settling in some, at least at her own pace.  Sitting in the kitchen doorway is a nice start, feeling out the atmosphere and what you are doing.  Letting her do her thing is the best thing, since cats are really the "kings" and "queens."  With DIL's cat she left behind with us, she's finally relaxed enough to trust us, especially me.  I've tried to gently work with her and talk to her since we've been up here.  She now meows when she's looking for me - she used to only hiss at anyone who came near (DIL was sweet with her as a kitten but became ugly to her and our other cats later.)  She will rub on my legs every morning and lays at my feet or above my feet on the bed or couch.  I'm able to pick her up now without her struggling to get away.  I'll only hold her a couple of minutes while petting and talking soft to her.  She's relaxed so much more now with that, too, and has only recently started purring.  I'm glad because I just want her to feel loved and wanted and unafraid.

I'm glad you got a chunk of homework done even if it took up a greater part of your day.  I totally agree with what studying does to the brain and wearing out!

Your minestrone sounds easy and yummy!  Anything that easy to make is right up my alley, lol!!  We all like Hamburger Helper enough, but picky Roddy only likes the southwestern/mexican flavored one.  That one is too spicy for my reflux, so I'll usually fix the cheeseburger or triple cheese cheeseburger for me.

I'm working on my SSDI appeal this week.  We're checking out attorneys around here.  There are some good ones where we lived out of state, but they also work in this state, so I'm looking at them, too.  Then we'll file the appeal online.

I hope you have a great day, and a nice evening!  Talk to you later.

Julie,

I didn't realize it was your daughters birthday until you posted something on FB.  Happy Birthday wishes again.  Doing anything special?

I was up an hour before my alarm.  I'm having a problem getting used to the time change.

Good luck on getting the SSDI in place.  You deserve it.

The little one is coming this morning and I will be watching her Friday since I'm off school.  Bob will leave today and get the truck in Erie then he'll stay the night at home and leave here tomorrow morning.  I think my son is coming this weekend and I'm supposed to help a friend in the Paint the Town project.  There is a 1000 price that she is trying to win but has no transportation.  She is a good artist though so I think she has a chance.  I will help her with the painting but just sort of coloring in the lines that she has drawn.  It's all done on storefront windows and we're not sure which business we're doing until we get there on Saturday.

Another busy weekend.  I just have to make sure I get all my homework squeezed in somewhere.

Toodles for now.

Hi Kim,

Thanks for the birthday wishes to Veronica.  She was pleasantly surprised when she saw your post.  Our fair starts tonight and she wants us to go with her so we are doing that.  This is the one time a year we like to get a funnel cake there!  Then she and her dad love to bring home a few bags of cotton candy to hold them for a day or so, lol.  I like to check out any crafts or scarves and gloves they may have.  It's not like I have any money, though! :(

Busy day here.  I'm watching the little fella this afternoon and then tomorrow through Friday.  Her hubby's gone out of town again.  He's sweet, but as you know, they keep us on our toes!  I moved my laptop and a few things for him out to the screened-in porch because he wanted to play out there.  When I'm set up and ready to type, he goes back in and wants to play in there, lol.  I told him, after several times, that if I go in with all of our stuff, I'm not coming back out.  We played some and now I'm back to typing this.  Think I'll get through before he's ready to go back in?  Ha Ha!

Veronica's brother hasn't even called her or texted her for her birthday.  I feel bad for her - she has always looked up to her big (oldest) brother, and has suffered a lot of disappointments from him lately.  We've got each other's backs, though.

You definitely have a busy weekend ahead.  Bravo for helping your friend!  You enjoy that kind of thing anyway.  Hope you have fun and I'll keep my fingers crossed for her!!

Gotta go run after him again!  Talk with ya later!

Julie  :)

Hi Susan!  Welcome to Fusion Cash!  I have 3 grown kids and 2 granddaughters.  I enjoy being on the computer, making whatever cash I can, keeping up with friends, and playing a couple of games.  I hope you enjoy Fusion Cash and it's nice to have you drop in here today!  I play the guitar - have been for years.  That's great you are learning to play it.  The main thing in the beginning is learning chords, where to place those fingers, and then letting the finger tips get tough enough where it won't hurt you much anymore!  Good luck and have fun learning!  Please drop in whenever you'd like!! Hope to see you again!

Hi Tooee,  Glad you stopped by to say hello.  I'm envious of being able to play the quitar.  I love to hear it and would love to learn how but never had the opportunity.  My fingers are so little I have a hard time stretching to reach the strings.  I love to crochet and do plastic canvas too.  I spend too much time on the pc too, even though I'm in school and have to study.  I'd get more done if I would just walk away from the pc games.

I hope you stop by again.  Visit often!

Good morning Julie,

I hope Veronica heard from her brother before days end.  Otherwise did she have a good birthday?

We watched "the little one" yesterday and she was a handful for some reason.  Not bad just needy.  She wanted our undivided attention all day.  Don't know what's gotten into her.  I'll have her again Friday so I'll see if she acts any differently.  We created a monster though.  She had never tried garlic bread and when she smelled it baking she asked to try it and went wild over it.  She loves bread anyhow and will go the and get a piece to gnaw on without asking or saying a word.  (I don't care but feel like if she is hungry she needs something more substantial.)  She will often ask for just buttered bread for breakfast or lunch.

It sounds like you had you had you had your hands full with your little guy too.  Maybe it's the full-moon?  It seems like the animals, Bob, Amya and even I have been antsy the past few days.  There is a tension around things and people that I'm feeling.  I even checked my biorhythm's last night to see what's going on as I've been so tired and feeling on edge.  It shows that I certainly was on an downswing with energy and a high on emotions but it's suppose to change this next week.  Unfortunately it shows that Bob's energy levels are going to go down.  I'm curious to see how this shakes out.   :-

He leaves today for Erie.  They didn't have the truck ready yesterday for him to pick up.  I plan on diving into the books as soon as I get home tonight and really working it for the next few days.  I want to decorate this weekend and had him get the Christmas boxes from the attic last night.

I'm not sure if we'll be doing the windows as my friend, Rose, hasn't heard anything about her application yet.  She is going to call today to see what's up.  If her entry is selected we will go buy the paints today after school.

Someone said on FB that they were in Walmart last night and they are already playing Christmas music.  The holidays are crashing down around me and I don't have anything much made yet.  I have to get revved!

Later girlfriend.

Hi ya Kim,

Randal didn't call or text his sister but she still had a great birthday.  She's hurt and ticked but she said if he wants to "play that game, she will too."  We ended up postponing going to the fair until tomorrow night.  Last night was actually the first night and someone called to let us know it was way too crowded if we would rather wait.

Yes, this little fella is much more busier than before.  He doesn't want to play with toys in the box - he wants to touch and play with everything that he knows is a no-no, lol.  I am constantly up and down, pant-gasp, pant-gasp.  I took an empty Christmas decorations little box and put some cars and blocks in it, then set the box near some other boxes.  Sure enough, a little bit later, he took the bait and snuck over, picked it up started taking the toys out and putting them back in.  I pretended like I didn't notice. Lol....

I cannot believe how tired I was last night!  I know I fatigue easy, but last night was the pits.  I had gotten a headache in the afternoon and was a bit tired.  After Vee's supper and her other brother and I cleaned up, I sat down to do some things on the computer.  Next thing I know it's 4:30 in the morning and I'm having a slight reflux/coughing spell.  Hubby comes in to check on me.  I had totally not taken my bedtime pills last night (one for reflux.) He said that both he and Vee tried their best to wake me to get ready for bed and I just wouldn't wake up or was out of it so much I wasn't comprehending.  She took the computer away and put it up for me, covered me up (on the couch) and let me sleep on.  This was around 7:00 last night.

That's good Bob got the decorations down for you before leaving.  Roddy and Veronica got ours out this past weekend.  She's already started on some things - she loves decorating anyway.

A previous 2nd and 3rd grade student [I moved up with that class that year; she's in 9th grade this year - feel old :( ], said the same thing.  She had gone shopping with her mom Monday.  She was complaining about Thanksgiving being ignored basically.  I agreed with her and told her that it seemed money was the focus instead of promoting thankfulness.  She told me her favorite commercial for Thanksgiving was the one with the Pilgrim man and wife salt/pepper shakers and showing how important family togetherness is.  It hasn't been on for a few years (at least down here.)  So many students of today don't even know what the history is behind Thanksgiving.  Sad...

That's pretty neat finding out Amya likes garlic bread.  Does she generally eat pretty well or is she picky?  Our DIL is the one who is so picky about what they can and can't have, yet she's not consistent about it.  She doesn't like mustard so she refuses to buy it.  Randal has always liked it but she told him to "suck it up and quit being a baby."  So no one gets mustard.  She tells everyone not to give them candy (just being spiteful) but will turn around and give it to them anyway and then yell at them for their hands and face being too sticky..  Ok, enough of my soapbox - thanks for letting me vent some!

I hope your friend, Rose, heard something today.  That would be a shame if she couldn't share her creativity, and even more so to not have a chance at the prize.

Hope you get some studying in like you want.  Remember to take some "you" time, okay?  It's taken me at least an hour to get this typed, for having to get up and down, play some, change diapers, feed snack/drink, etc.!  So if there are repeats and errors you know why, lol!!

Later my friend,

Julie  :cat:

Julie,

I feel so bad that your son is so out of touch with everyone.  That woman really has a grip on him and she sounds like the most irritating of people!

It sounds like your little guy is becoming a real hand full.  If you are going to continue to watch him you are going to have to become real creative in coming up with things for him to do that keeps him occupied.  He must be getting real comfortable with coming to your house and now the real little being is showing up.   :angel11:  If he thinks it's something he isn't supposed to play with it will keep him occupied a little longer it seems.

Amya is somewhat picky.  She will tell me she doesn't like something but then when she tries it she ends up loving it and eats with gusto.  So far she doesn't like meatballs and frozen grapes but has managed to turn it around to loving them.  The one thing she is still standing strong on is not liking oyster crackers.  She loves saltines but won't even nibble on a piece of oyster cracker to see that it is a saltine!  She equates the word oyster with yuk.  I made her a bowl of progresso chicken noodles one day and thought she'd turn her nose up at the larger chunks of carrots and celery only to find out that it was the oyster crackers that were the deal breaker.

Rose did hear that her sketch was accepted.  We are suppose to be downtown at 8 on Saturday.  I'll probably take her to pick up the paint supplies tonight.

The SD texted last night to ask if she and Amya could just spend the night here tonight.  She is on call at the hospital tonight and I was going to watch Amya tomorrow anyhow so they will just stay here and that way she can just sleep in tomorrow.  I'm going to try to clean my food cabinets and the broom closet out while I'm watching her tomorrow and get some dusting, sweeping, etc done in the upstairs.  Did I mention I'm off school for Veterans Day?  I have some crocheting to do too.  My grandson informed me yesterday that he would like a sock monkey hat with the ear lugs and braided ties on it for Christmas so I'm on the prowl for a crochet pattern for that.  I'm currently making Amya a crocheted hat with kitty ears and a pair of mittens and I'm looking for a pattern for another ear lug hat for my grand-daughter (who is 17).

I finished the first book of the Hunger Games yesterday.  A very good read.  The movie is supposed to come out later this month and I want to see that.  I think I'll start on the Help next.  People are telling me it is very good too.  I get a little reading in between classes at school.  It takes me a good while to read a book but a page here and there adds up eventually.

Bob was going to drive until Midnight last night.  When I last talked to him around 9 he was in Indiana.  I'm supposed to call him at 6 and wake him.  He was just going to hunker down with a couple of sleeping bags and sleep on the front seat of the truck.  They would pay for a room for him but he is frugal.  He said his boss (the one for his road travels) was going to give a power point demonstration today for the owners of the track (where he works during the warm weather months here) and make them an offer to manage the track here and make changes that would earn more monies.  If they get to manage this track they would change his position to managing the pro shop.  He'd be good at it and could really help them turn a profit.  It would be less physical on him too which would make me happy.  I really want him to slow down some.  He'd still travel during the winter tour but it would make his spring and summers more enjoyable.  I'm really hoping they get to make the changes they want.  If we start Amya racing next spring we will pull my camper over to the track and just let it sit there.  We'd probably be there every weekend and it would give him a home away from home for during the days.  I pray this happens!

Well I hope you hear from Randal and that you get to the fair tonight.  We had rain and it's gotten much colder here.  I think there are snow flurries predicted.  Hope your weather is good for the fair.

Tata for now
