Hi Dianne,

I haven't heard from you in awhile - miss seeing you!  I do see you on FB, with our games and statuses, though!  But it's not quite the same as chatting in here.  Hope all are well your way!

Julie  :)

Julie,

You may have mentioned filing for the SSDI to me before and I just spaced it.  I do that a lot lately.  I sure hope you get it because you are certainly deserving of it.  I've always heard three turn downs but like you said it could be case by case.  I sure pray that it is in your case.

I'm not going to get the shrug done.   :sad1: I had to babysit a bit last night and the house was full of people.  The SD is planning on going to a flea market this morning early to get rid of some unwanted things and she had a cousin and another friend here helping her prepare.  I watched the little one while they were running errands.  No crocheting with all of the commotion.  I'll just go during my first break at school, use the credit card and get her some little thing as a gift.  There is a Rite Aid by the school so I'm hoping I'll find something there.  I can always give her the shrug for Christmas.  I'd like to make some little token gift for each of the teachers and classmates.

I know I have mentioned before about my genealogy files and how much time I spend working on them.  Well one of the cousins, Phil who I met for coffee when he was home from Germany, is working on one book for my mother's side of the family and another cousin group was working on one too.  The latter group has files from a woman that are very old and very sought after and the one in charge wasn't always willing to share the information for some reason.  This had caused a little consternation between the groups.  For some reason though she was always open to exchanging information with me though.  She contacted me on FB the other day to ask if she could get me to help with the book, which has been in progress since around 2001.  She has had two strokes and isn't able to type or see as well and finally came to the realization that she wasn't going to get it completed on her own and the other person who had been working with her is in his 80's.  She called me last night to ask if she could turn all of the information over to me and if I would enter the information into the data base and get it ready for publication.  I'm really excited to be able to get this job completed!  She is to mail the files this week when her assistant comes in to help.

I hope to get your book in the mail to you by at least Monday.  Did you want the Tuesday's with Morrie?  I have read all of the Jean Auel books, with the exception of this newest.  Ayla is like a part of my family!

TTYL,

Kim

Im 17 years old and go by the internet names LThorn14 and YoungMarketer. I started making money online when I was thirteen, and now I make enough to pay for my gas and car insurance with all the sites I use. I love to help people out and give them pointers so they can earn a few more bucks.

I am a senior in high school and am taking some pretty hard classes such as calculus and physics. I plan on going to college at WVU and getting simultaneous bachelor degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering.

Google is your friend. You can find me there. Can I find you there?

I am very impressed with what you are doing with your life at just 17!  YoungMarketer is a very good name for you and your endeavors.  How many sites do you use?  I use 3 mainly - the main 3 that help me earn decently (FC is one of them.)  That is great that you can help others so they can earn, too.

You are a very busy student - I wish you the very best during your senior year and when going to college!!  Hope to see you in here again!  :)

That's great receiving your acceptance letter!  I hope everything goes smoothly for you with all the steps you have to go through now!  Do you have any success with sweepstakes entries?  I used to do them more when I was a stay-at-home mom years ago.  One friend of mine did so many and actually did pretty good.

Well, I hope things work out for the best with doing a craft page or not.  I do understand about those issues with payments.  We can always see any pics you may post!  Just keep up the great crafting!

Julie  :)

Kim,

Sorry about the shrug.  It's the thought and intent that counts.  Like you said, Christmas is a possibility.  I hope you found something at Rite Aid for her.  Speaking of crocheting and knitting - I browsed through some of my sites that I haven't gone into for quite awhile.  There are a couple of sets I would like to maybe try.  They are both scarf, hat, and glove sets.  I would really like to try one of those sets.  It's been so long since I crocheted, but I hope it will be like getting back up on a bicycle, in that I'll catch back on and remember what to do.  My daughter and I both love things like that.

That's wonderful about the genealogy opportunity!  I know you will enjoy finding and putting together family information and getting it published.  My aunt on my dad's side is waiting for hers to finally be published and printed (about my grandfather's side.)  I'm glad the lady chose you to offer it to!  Good luck with it!!  Keep me posted!

Tuesday's With Morrie would be great also.  Seriously, though, if you are still tight, I don't mind you holding off at all.  I've got a couple ready to mail to you, too - I just need to get down to the post office - probably next week.

I agree with you - Ayla is like part of the family!!  I never tire of reading about her!  Have a great night tonight and a good day tomorrow!

Thanks! I use 2GPT sites, 3PTC sites, and about three social networking site along with many forums to help get referrals. I would give you the names, but I don't want to advertise or spam on here. But I'm not really that hard of a person to find  ;)

Wow impressive.  I'm certainly open to any pointers about earning more money on the internet so hope you'll stop by again and teach me a little of what you know.  Do you live in WV?  My one daughter graduated from WVU and now lives in Beckley.  Great plans for your future...I can't say I'm smart enough, or ever have been, to tackle calculus and physics!

crochet, books and other stuff
« Reply #640 on: September 09, 2011, 02:08:48 am »
Julie,

Yeah I think when you pick up the crochet it will come back to you.  If you get stuck let me know and maybe I can help.  I had a friend stuck on a certain stitch and we did a video of me crocheting, stuck it on youtube so she could see what I was doing and it got her back in the groove again.

I ended up shopping at Walmart for the teacher and just got her a pretty neck scarf.  She really liked it or so it seemed as she put it on and wore it the rest of the day.

I will send the Tuesdays with Morrie book also but they still don't have me worked out on the UC website.  I now have gotten as far as filing for three weeks (amounting to over 1000 dollars) but it is being held pending work search information from which I'm supposed to be exempt as a student.  I've emailed and called the lady in Indiana and have received no response.  I had someone tell me I should call my state representatives to get the help I need to get this straightened out.  I'm totally broke and living off my credit card.  They don't care.  They are still collecting their paychecks.

I can understand people working for the extra "pin money" but I get irritated by people that say stuff like...I just work to stay busy or out of trouble.  If you are retired and don't need the extra money but want to stay busy...volunteer!  Teach a kid to read, help out at the local hospital, read to a blind person, visit a lonely person, pitch in at a soup kitchen OR donate the money you earn to a charitable organization!

Hey, my name is Darlene. I highly agree with the whole volunteering thing. I'm 18 and looking for work. I have no support from my family, and am receiving food stamps. Honestly, I hate receiving them, cuz I'm never sure if someone's going to look down on me because I'm unemployed. I've applied to over 40 jobs, but still don't have one. However, until I get a job, in order to keep receiving food stamps, I must volunteer. I think it's a great idea, so I am volunteering at this cat shelter in Smyrna, DE. I also babysit my three year old niece and my ten year old niece when she gets back from school every other week. I haven't gotten paid for it yet though :( It's rough for an unemployed teen who is supposed to be going to college. I can barely afford to put gas in the car to get to these places that I need to go to.... I'm lucky though because my girlfriend's mom is letting me live with them and use her car, but I still have to put gas in it. Have you ever felt like your life just seems to be crashing down around you? I'm trying to get into the Delaware Air National Guard, but I haven't heard back from my recruiter yet. Nothing seems to be going right.... :-

Are you on FB?  If so, then I could probably locate you.  I definitely would like to look into some of the ones you are earning from.  Every little bit helps, for sure!  Keep up the great work! :)

Hi, Darlene!  It's nice to meet you in here!  Hang in there.  It does sound like you are trying - something's bound to come up that would be great for you.  I'm glad you do have your friend and her mom standing behind you!  That's a neat thing to do by volunteering at a cat shelter.  I love cats!  It makes me wonder if your volunteering could eventually work into paid work or even the veterinary field.  I hope you hear from the National Guard - there's a lot of potential within that field!
Just a tip - LThorn14 who posted a couple of posts ahead of you is around your age, a senior, and is involved in several things like this (Fusion Cash) that help to earn money.  Maybe there's a possibility of something to help you out more!  Keep on keeping on - I wish you the best!  :)
