Hello Julie and Dianna,

I'm combining responses here this morning as I'm in a bit of a rush.  I spent too much time chopping down trees, mining rocks and walloping bears this morning.

We are on our third day of steady rain here.  I got one sock monkey hat done and another one started.  The go pretty fast and I can knock one out in a day or two.  I'm wanting to make a couple of angry bird hats too.  I'd post on FB but they are Christmas gifts and the people I'm giving to would see them.  I guess I could post on here...I'll take pictures soon.

Gotta run.  Treat yourself to something special today and take just 5 minutes to just close your eyes and meditate.  I will too.

Later ladies.

Kim

Wow you are a busy little bee today lol..we had rain yesterday blech..I hope it lets up soon for ya..Awww I wanna see the monkey hat..My youngest loves moneys lol..and meditate sounds great..I hope you day was well and you smiled talk to ya soon doll

Kim,

Yes, you were definitely very busy this morning, lol!  I'd say you and the game are getting along very well!  It is nice, though, to see your fair and your skye - you are moving right along!

It was really cold and windy here today.  It only went up to around 57 but the wind made it flat chilly.  I actually wore a long sleeved shirt, flannel pants, and cozy fleecy slippers all day - I used to be too hot-natured (the last couple of years anyway) to wear anything like this so I thoroughly enjoyed being able to wear them!!

Yes, definitely post some pics in here if you can.  I would love to see one of those angry bird hats - they were be adorable!  You are always working on something different or unique and have the best ideas for crafts and gifts!

I hope your test went well today - I was thinking about you sending some extra "do good's" your way.  Hope the rest of the week goes well for you, too!

"See" you tomorrow,

Julie  :)

Morning!

I'm not sure what I'm doing with the games yet.  Everything is just sitting where they land with little or no organization.  I'm just chopping away trying to find my way through them.  I always feel a little badly for the monsters.  It's not in my nature to wallop or clobber.  :)

I got commissioned to make a hello kitty hat from one of the girls at school.  I got it all done last night except sewing it together.

My test is actually today.  I had my days mixed up.  I haven't studied like I should so I hope I pass it.  Too many games and crafts!

I need a break to play more!  Thanksgiving was great for visiting but I didn't have time for crafting and Christmas is coming on quick.

I'll try to get some pictures of the hats up but probably not until the weekend.

Stay warm.  We're still rainy but I am seeing snow and sleet complaints from my friends in the midwest so I know it won't be long before we have the same.

Toodles.

Kim

Hello Girls...
I came up with this awesome idea yesterday..(while i was in pain with darn tooth again) I used to make like little bobbie pin accents for my daughters hair when she was a baby they would slide in by ponytails, buns or braids and almost look like the were sitting on hair did it with flowers and all kinds of stuff and they were so cute so I think I am going to make some up,have my oldest daughter model them and sell them call them like Diannas accent hair pins..What do ya think? when you see them they look so cute..I figured I could sell them as sets of 8..Today was a little better with teeth still hurt last night was really ruff almost thought a er visit may have to happen..The pain was really unbearable..Hubby had to calm me down I was crying so hard..Got some bayer advanced care seems to be working so I hope it will work for sometime..I hope all is well with you guys..Love ya Dianna

Dianna, those sound like an excellent idea!  I used to fix my daughter's hair with all kinds of cutesy bows, pins, flowers, etc., when she was small.  Now I've got granddaughters (ages 7 and 3) and hopefully can get some for them.

I'm so sorry about that tooth - you have been suffering too long with that thing.  I am glad your hubby is supportive for you with that.  I hope the bayer advanced keeps helping you until you go back.

Hope your week is going well otherwise!

Kim,

Yep, it sounds like those games have got you hooked, now, lol!  I love playing Ravenwood Fair, but there's not too much going on with quests at the moment, so I've devoted more time (when I can) to Ravenskye.  I hate when I run out of energy, but that's just the fun of it, right?  I have not even been able to get on FB today at all because of errands, things that needed getting done, and my kids' choir and handbell choir.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow afternoon.

I go to a new pulmonologist tomorrow for a 2nd opinion.  This one is about 1 1/2 hours away.  Then Fri. I have to sub as monitor on my hubby's bus, then leave for the 2 hour commute to get my asthma shots, and then go to another doctor.

My mom's house officially closed/sold today!  My BIL is supposed to be receiving the checks (one for him, my MIL, and me.)  That will be a big help to us right now.  And then yesterday, Roddy picked up a prescription and didn't have to pay anything for it.  So when he got home he looked up the insurance and found that we have met all deductibles, co pays, etc. for the year, and so now for December, all meds and dr. visits are no charge!!  So all of those meds I've been needing refilled (while using samples from my doctor) were called in last night.  There were 11 of them!  I picked them up today - I'm so glad for that!!!

Randal called me today from work.  He's taking me up on my offer for the girls to come stay with us next weekend while he and Bon go do something.  It's another step for both of us.  I'm just thankful that we are going to get the girls!!  I'm thinking I may give their Christmas presents to them, along with the older one's birthday present, while they are here, since we don't know what to expect at Christmas.  I'm relieved that I actually already have their Christmas presents!

I still hope your test went well, even if wrong day, lol.  That's great about the Hello Kitty hat request!  Veronica used to love Hello Kitty when she was younger.  We had a little store in the mall that we frequented a lot.  They had a business size card that they would punch holes in each time we went and bought certain amounts.  Then we would trade the completed card in for nice little goodies.  The store is gone now.

Have a terrific Thursday!

Julie  :)   :cat:

Dianna,  The hair pins sound neat.  That might be something I'd be interested in for myself as I'm letting my hair grow out and I'm constantly pinning it away from my face.

I'm so sorry about your teeth.  Have you ever tried clove oil?  You can put a bit of cotton on a toothpick, dip it in the oil and either pack the tooth or rub it around the gum line.  Of course the real deal would be to get the teeth fixed so that they don't hurt anymore!  When is that going to be taken care of?

ARRRGGGHHHH....

I had a major message written and went to post it with a picture of the Hello Kitty hat and it dumped out on me and I got a message saying the file was too large to post.

I'll post the kitty hat to FB.

Condensing...Julie I am so happy to read 3 good things that happened to you...selling the house, free medical for the rest of the month and getting the girls for the weekend.  I agree with giving them their gifts.  I'm so happy for you I'm dancing in my chair.  What wonderful news! Use that medical month to your best advantage...run Julie run!

I scored a 95 on the test.  One of the teachers asked me if I would sit in on her class today, as she has to attend a Chamber of Commerce meeting, and give the class their test review and chapter assignment.  It's no big deal really but it felt like a vote of confidence to me.  She also asked if I would join her and some other classmates on Saturday morning to help decorate a shelter for abused women.

Have to run.....

Hi Kim,

Hey, that's great getting a 95 on the test!  I agree with you about the teacher having confidence in you to sit in on the class for her.  Good going!  Saturday sounds interesting with decorating an abuse shelter for women.  That's a nice thing to do for women who need to feel appreciated and included during this hard time in their lives.

Sorry about the hat not posting yet - we'll get to see it when we can.  Oh, and I laughed when I read that you were dancing in your chair - ha ha!  But it made me feel good about how happy you were about my newsy news!

I went to the new pulmonologist today.  She told me after reviewing my records this week before today, that mine is a very complex case and that I'm just having some bad asthma difficulties.  She took me off of the Advair discus and put me on a different inhaler because she doesn't like me being on constant inhaled steroids.  She thinks the switch out will help not only with the asthma but with losing some of the weight that I've been struggling to lose.  She put me on 2 other new meds that are strictly for asthma/allergy issues to try and see if they will help.  She is going to test me for a couple of illnesses that may be either going on underneath the surface, which could be causing the anemia and other issues making the asthma/allergies worse.  I feel like I'm rambling in circles, but I'm just glad she's working with me and trying to help me instead of only focusing on sleep apnea like the other pulmonologist was.

Tomorrow I get my asthma shots and then go to my PCP for a pneumonia booster.  Too many needles, lol!  I'm also supposed to receive a check from my MIL tomorrow or Saturday for my part of the house, since it's sold.  Yay!!

Hope your class went well today with the test review.  Have a great night!

Julie  :)

Good morning.

I'm glad you are making some appointments and getting your tests and shots done.

You probably already know that my altenator went out on my car.  The part will be at least 150 but Bob will do the repair.  I'm taking the day off of school so he can fix it while it's daylight and somewhat warm.  Poop...there goes my Christmas money and I didn't have much to begin with.

Oh well, I have to have transportation and it's better that it happened now than when he is back on the road or when I start my internship next month.

Having today off will give me some extra time for homework and housework too.  Have to look at the bright side.

TTYL,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Yes, I had just read your comment about the alternator on FB (checking my emails) and now I'm on here late.  I didn't get home today until around 4:30 this afternoon.  That just "takes the cake" about your Christmas money having to be used for the car.  I'm glad Bob can do it for you so you don't have to pay for labor, too.  Roddy, Veronica, and Adam were told today that the school board will not be paying the December paycheck early, like they normally do.  So, after having got paid on Nov. 30, and they paid bills, including a couple ahead, they now won't have very much Christmas money either.  They had thought by paying ahead on some, they could use the early December payment more for Christmas.  There's no reason for doing that to the bus drivers and the teachers.  They always get paid early, including a bonus.  This year a new person is in charge and they aren't getting paid early nor are they even receiving any bonus.  Yet, the ones up high and in charge gave themselves raises.    :angry7:

I did get all my 3 needles stuck in me, lol.  Feeling yucky now.  The doctor was a little concerned about the wheezing she was hearing today and the cough that goes on and on, out of control, until you gag, thinking you're going to be sick.  She's wondering about Pertussis.  Between her and the pulmonologist, they want to see if these 3 new meds will help bring this in better control.  If, after a couple of weeks, they don't, then I'll have to get a tetanus booster because they make them with P (pertussis) in them and hopefully that would take care of it.

Hope you got as much homework and housework done as you wanted.  Maybe it will lighten up your weekend for you both!!  We're supposed to go to a birthday party tomorrow for the little one who swallowed the coin.  He'll be turning one!  I hope I feel like going - I'm planning to even if I have to sit the whole time, lol!  She knows I may leave early.  Oh, and the coin still hasn't come through, but it at least is moving in the right direction, just very slow.

Talk to ya tomorrow!

Julie  :)

Julie,

I saw on FB that you weren't feeling well.  I hope today is a better day.

Bob got the alternator fixed yesterday.  It sucks but I do need transportation and am thankful it went out while he was still home to do the work.

I got three batches of hard tack, clove, finished yesterday, a scarf, hat and some English homework.  Not as productive as I would have liked though.  The day just flew.

I'm going this morning to help decorate the house for abused women and then to the store.  I need more corn syrup and sugar to make some more candy.

I'm thawing a turkey that I was planning on using for Christmas as I'm trying to stretch the food budget this week to make up for some of the money being lost on the car repairs.  I'll cook the turkey tomorrow and we can eat leftovers for a couple of days.

I haven't been feeling well either.  I suffered a headache and chills for two days and Bob had the headache last night.  Hoping we all feel better today and that I can get some more "stuff" done.  Tomorrow I have to buckled down to some major homework.  I hope they lighten up on the amount of work they hand out during the holidays.  Enough is enough.

Hi Kim,

Today is a rough day.  Thank you for checking.  Then our pastor's dad called this afternoon and said they were coming so he could cut Roddy's and Adam's hair.  Roddy had kind of forgotten to mention it to me, lol.  Anyway he and his wife also brought bread, deli meat, and tomatoes so we could eat together.  That was nice of them.  It was hard to be up and about like that, getting the meat ready, slicing tomatoes, clearing the table better, visiting - I know it doesn't sound like much normally but on my puny weekend it's a lot for me.  :(  But, they are of the mindset that if you don't feel well and have to lay back while visiting, then by all means do that, and let us do the work.  Ha Ha!  I can't let them do the work, though, they're guests!

I am glad Bob got the alternator fixed for you and like you, am thankful it didn't happen when he's gone working.  I hope nothing else goes wrong with it!

You did get a lot done yesterday - maybe not as much to you when you know what you can do or want to do, but to me you did great.  It seems like everyday flies by too fast now.

Fixing the turkey and working with the leftovers sounds like a good idea for helping make up for the money used on the car.  Most days lately, because of being so tight, we try to eat nutritious but yet cheap.  Shepherd's Pie, Spaghetti, Subs the Cribb style, chili w/grilled cheese sandwiches, Hamburger Helper, etc.  And since pastor's mom and dad tend their own garden, they keep us well stocked with frozen corn, squash, okra, beans, peas, ...

How did things go with decorating the house for the abused women?

Sorry you haven't been feeling well, yourself.  I hope you feel better.  You haven't slowed down much so remember to take some rest time to kick your feet up some.  I hope Bob is feeling better, too.

I hope they don't give too much homework over the holidays either.  I agree: enough is enough!  You need some down time - after all, it is holiday time, right!!!

Feel better.

Julie,

The decorating of the house went great.  We had more than enough people to help.  I'll be posting a couple of pictures to FB later today.  They didn't have a tree topper so I went to Family dollar and bought them one.  They need femine products and housecoats and pj's for the home so I'm going to try to get a group at school to take up a collection.

I got two more hats done yesterday and worked on my English module.  I have some homework to do today.  I'm hoping to get the turkey roasted but when I got it out of the fridge in the garage it is still have frozen.  I have it in cold water now trying to speed it along.  Worse case scenario is to roast it tomorrow morning.

Last night I took a pound of burger, fried it with garlic, salt and pepper, mixed it in with some pototoes obrien and added a packet of gravy mix and that was dinner.  Filling and cheap is what it's all about right now.

It's great that the pastor is helping to provide you with some fresh produce.  I'm all about bartering and trading goods and services instead of spending cash.  I used to cut my friend's hair and he would always bring me three dozen of brown eggs from his chickens.  I miss that!

The sky is beautiful here this morning...all pink and rosy.  Red sky in warning sailors take warning?

I hope you feel better today.  I woke up with no headache although I did suffer another yesterday right after coming home from the decorating.

I'll be checking in with you on FB later.  I have started playing several of those stupid games and pop in and out several times a day.  It's a nice break though and none of them really play that long before you run out of energy.  Heck I spend over half my energy restocking and recharging before I ever get to chop a tree or mine.  :)
