Well now, I am currently unemployed and I am hoping something gives soon. I am trying to make some money on the internet, but not have made a lot. But I keep on pushing along.

Sorry to hear that.  I became unemployed at the end of May.  I like your positive outlook though about keeping on pushing along!  Hopefully you will be able to find something to help you more soon.  Hang in there. :)

Hi Kim,

I'll just be on standby watching out for Cheryl, lol!  I did see the obituary, but wasn't sure what the connection to you was.  That's sad.

You did have a busy day and evening, for sure.  I'm glad you were able to meet with your cousin from Germany and further your genealogy research.  That sounds really neat being able to meet family from across the world!

I just received the money from the escrow (from my mom's house.)  If you would still like for me to send the Vol. 1 book we talked about, I can mail it to you  since I've got some cash now!!  Just let me know.

Hope you have a great evening!

Julie  :)

Julie,

I'm not in a hurry for the book.  I have several reports and homework to do before the end of the semester so reading is something that I have to place on the back burner for now.  I think I'm on my way to getting my unemployment straightened out so I'll have money to mail your book soon too.

I think we're going to WV to give my daughter's car back over Labor Day and then I MIGHT be going with Bob to the state of Indiana while I'm off of school.  If I do I'll get to see some of my old friends from Indy and get into the city for some visits to my old haunts.  My friend Marilyn is so darned excited that I might come and spend a few days with her she is practically jumping up and down.

The lady that died was one of my old supervisors.  She was from England and spoke with a lovely English accent.  She was a real sweetheart.  She had Alzheimers for quite a while and was in a resthome.

Glad you got your mom's house in order and have a little spare change.  That should help some with you not working.

Gotta run...reports to research and I want to try to get to the basement to exercise a bit.  Make this day a great one!

Kim,

I'm sorry to hear about your supervisor.  I love hearing people speak the British accent.  One of my daughter's ex-bank bosses was from England - everyone who worked under her just loved her.

It sounds like you need to go and spend time with Marilyn!  If you do, I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing time!  You need to enjoy yourself for awhile!

About the books, we can just hold off for awhile until things settle down more for both of us.  I've got plenty right now, myself, so I'm okay.  You don't need the extra little worry on top of everything else.  I'm really looking into hopefully getting some kind of e-reader, just not sure which one yet, and would have to save for it.  Once that happens, I'll be interested in the "lending" between e-readers that it talks about.  That sounds neat!

Hope your tests go great this week!  "See" ya soon!

Hi Dianne!

That's great about you starting your application process!  I hope everything works out for you with this.  I hope you are able to have your teeth fixed like you need to, also.  We gotta have teeth!

Looking forward to your craft page!  Have a super day!

Can you collect some unemployment for a while to allow you time to find another job?  Best wishes for you.

Good morning!  Can you believe this is the last day of August?  Where did the summer go?   :crybaby2: I can't imagine saying the same thing about the end of winter.   ::)

I have a test today and hope I do okay.  I admit to not studying as much as I should have because I got caught up in working on some genealogy files last night.  I'm such a bad girl!

I'll end this message now so I can go study a bit more....stomping out of the room and pouting..... :BangHead:

Good morning!

It's raining this first day of September.  I hope all is well with you and yours.  I have a test to study for again today so I'm on limited time.  Make this day a great one.

Hello!

I'm sorry I wasn't able to write in here yesterday.  My computer was sick with a virus.  My son is a super computer person - he should make money off of what he can do with computers!  It does save us a lot though, when he can fix things!

It's sunny, cloudy, and hot here today.  The temperature says 84 but the humidity is high.  At least our temperatures are ever so slowy easing into the lower 90s and upper 80s.  Once we start getting the higher 60s at night/morning, then fall is trying to start coming in.

Dianne,
That would be great getting your craft page going.  Let them know they have to run like a looney for you that night, lol!  By the way, I kept up with my FB messages through my Blackberry last night.  I sure hope you are feeling better today (headache.)  Those are not fun.  Hope you are having a super day!

Kim,
It sounds like they are socking you with tests before the end of the semester!  Hang in there!  I would choose working on genealogy myself if given that opportunity, lol.

Actually, I need to get back to work on that.  My aunts have been working on my dad's parents' sides for years now, and one aunt is waiting for a book to be published on my grandfather's life during the war under General Patton.  I'm trying to work on my mom's parents' sides.  My grandfather's side is way more ahead than my grandmother's.  She lost her mom while a baby and was taken in by her uncle and aunt.  Her father left.  But I'm trying to get past a roadblock where her great (3 or 4, not sure yet) grandmother was married to a Cherokee chief.  Since I'm home more, I have some time now to put into it.

I'll talk to you soon.  I hated not getting in here yesterday - it just didn't feel right - it's like you said - it's become my daily fix!  Have a great Friday and weekend!

Dianne,

Any sneek peeks for the craft page or do we just have to wait until you have it all done?  Are your kids back in school yet?  Get them on the bus and hubby out the door and let the beds go unmade so you can chisel out some "me" time.

Julie,

Sorry to hear about the computer virus.  I hate it when that happens.  Lately mine have been those that take over your browser.  You really see how much you depend on your computer when it goes down.  I suffered last summer when the power went out in the house with no tv and no computer, especially when it got too dark to read.  ;)

If you need help on your genealogy let me know.  I'd be glad to help.  I do have my Ancestry.com membership back for a while.  My files are so old and messed up with duplicates that I've been trying to clean them up lately and that's taking time.  The Indian thing is going to take some doing.  I too have some Cherokee that came in through a marriage from one of the men and all I can see on the census is her first name.  There are a gazillion information pages about how to research but I haven't done too much of it myself yet so I can't speak from experience.  Now you have me curious though so I'll see what I can find out.

I've finished everything needed for one of my classes so will be free an extra hour a day from now until the other classes end.  I still have four days of testing on drug classifications and the actual drugs and probably another final in Anatomy.  It's winding down but not nearly fast enough!

Gotta run.  Talk to you ladies later.

So next week is it and then break?  That's great!  You need this time off.  I hope all of you have a super holiday weekend!  Maybe the holiday will help to usher the feeling of fall in and the temperatures will ease down some more.

I have an Ancestry membership from way back, too.  I need to get it back up and going.  At the time, I hated getting so far with something, only to be asked to pay to go further.  I don't know if it's the same or not - you probably know - but I'll have to look.  I really enjoy doing the research, but it is timely, for sure.

I had to work today.  I am a sub for 2 different monitors (Special Ed. bus, and the Troubled Kids bus.)  The troubled kids are the ones who have to go to a special school for behavioral problems, kids who are already convicted, etc. - that's the one I subbed on today.  My hubby drives that bus.  At least it gives me a small paycheck.

Good luck with all of your tests next week.  Hope things are on a more even keel at home for you.

Talk to ya'll later!

Julie,

Are the kids you were subbing for dangerous to you in any way?  Do they listen to you during class?  Are you looking for full-time or just going to continue subbing?

My oldest daughter is going to be subbing too.  She doesn't want to work full-time right now but she said subbing can turn into an almost full-time position.

Yes I have next week and part of the next at school before break starts.  Some of my classes are finished but others will keep us until the end so we have large gaps in our day.  We got one of the cars back last night so at least I'll have my own transportation and can leave the school do run errands, or come home, during breaks.

Things are on a more even keel here at home in that I am no longer tying up my weekends with babysitting.  I hated telling her I wouldn't do it anymore on a regular basis, I did want to help out, but I just can't keep up the schedule of school, studying and babysitting and get anything else done around the house (projects) and /or pleasure.  Today I'm going to finish painting the flower box and front window and try to get the primer on the windows by the deck and pool.  Those are things that aren't easy done with a 4 year old.

I'm just not as young as I once was and I get muddled when I can't do things at random or as planned.
