Falconer, first I said I was concerned about it, not afraid.  I started another thread awhile ago that regards what's going on with a nominee that Obama is backing that supports this very thing with the Sharia Law.

Second, I wasn't bringing up and discussing my beliefs - why did you have to drag that in here?  I was discussing a concern of mine that is very seriously wrong with the way we do things in our culture here. No way do I want that involved in our courts, etc.

Third, in defense of my beliefs, they are not hypocrisy, so let's please not go in circles in this thread that is about Obama and Bush.

He just wants equality with all religions in this country. Islamic beliefs are just the hot topic of them all so everyone is exhaggerating his claims...calling him the "Sharia Law" president and immediatly coming to wacky conclusions...*facepalm*.The stories of that thread were nothing more than right-wing extremism and yellow journalism.

Did you bring this up because of islamic beliefs or were you just stating it for every cultural system? If you were referring to muslims, it isn't strictly the muslims doing this. The melting pot! Our "ways" have been changing since this country was founded with every race/culture. For instance the 1900's- Damn those Irish! They're everywhere nowadays gettin' drunk and causing fights! 2000's- "Damn those mexicans! They're everywhere nowadays takin' er' jerbs and listenin' to annoying music!" It's going to keep happening with several cultures whether one likes it or not. In 100 years, "our ways" are going to be different and someone is going to complain about those ways changing.

If we're talking about christian beliefs interfering in politics just as you believe islamic beliefs are, I assure you that this is beyond hypocrisy. If I'm totally off of what you originally meant, I apologize for assuming too much.

mattymatt79, I actually 'assumed' too that you had to be kidding when you brought up Ron Paul. You really want a guy who has stated repeatedly he wants the U.S. to end Social Security and Medicare?! Hey, lets just rid the country of all the elderly, disabled, and poor. Many of them have made their contribution to your life [in some way], but are no longer of any use. Is that how you see it?

Oh, not Medicare, though, Jordandog.  Else, where would Rand Paul make his money?  We just need to make the elderly pay a large deductible as well.

Don't get me started on all the reasons why I believe he was the worst possible choice for Kentucky.  Surprisingly enough, eastern Kentucky didn't vote for him.  I guess that's because he wants to eliminate agriculture subsidies and eliminate regulations on coal mining as well.

Will I have no problem with obama as a person and a family man but as a president I'm not sure . I believe he doesn't have the proper skills or the
right background but he is a smart man. Smart as in book smart and he has great public speech skills but that's about it. Since he has been in office
he has done nothing worth speaking about, all he has been doing is spending more money on top of the dept we already in. I was all for him before
he became the president but now I just been waiting and waiting and nothing happening just no progress . The country is getting deeper in dept
by the minute, people loosing their homes and jobs, everything is getting more expensive etc...
