i think arguing over it is pointless because whether you like it or not; kids will always find ways around your authority or wants to do the dirty.

although personally, if the child is uniformed i'd have to say....18? at least at this point they are old enough to get a full time job to support whatever happens and should already be out of highschool.

if the kids informed of the risk and is blatantly clear with the need for protection, then hell. let them have at it whenever they want just as long as they know how imperative it is that they do actually wear/use protection and actually follow through with it.

I would say until marriage.. seems like no one does it that way anymore so a minimum of 18 i suppose. Before that age you aren't prepared for the emotional stress it causes and you're body isn't deveolped all the way so you're not ready for it.

I agree with what most of you are saying, I feel that whatever age they are they should be prepared for what can come from it...and if they don't think they can handle it then they aren't ready

It all depends on the persons maturity and if they can handle the consequences. I say 18 to be able to support the child financially. However, there are some 40 year old adults who should never have children because they themselves are so selfish and immature.

You should be at an age where you a mature enough to handle all the complexities of sex.  It probably varies from person to person.

I agree with most people on this topic that it depends on the person's maturity and responsibility level. It is crazy how much society's view on this has changed. People used to be looked down upon for having sex out of wedlock and living in sin, and now it is pretty much an accepted part of life. I wonder how this came about?

I don't think there is a appropriate age to begin having sex. I think that when a person is ready all depends on that person and the relationship. Of course I don't think that a person should have sex at a young age.

Wow that is a good question.  I would have to say around 17 or 18 depending on the mental maturity of the person.   It's just really a hard decision to make.  If I were advising one of my children I would tell them of course to wait til they are married, but if they decided to before marriage to wait til they're at least 18.

i would say anywhere between 17 and 20.

i know too many people UNDER 20 that have children
that are atleast a few years old. needless to say,
most of them aren't married. so this leads me to
agree with everyone when i say maturity plays a
huge roll in the sex decision...

being confidant enough to stand up to pressure
comes with age, obviously.
