Amy, that was just beyond cool, thank you so much for sharing it! If I were face to face, I would grab that woman up in a hug so tight she would probably stop breathing. I would love, with your permission, to share that with a whole lot of my friends. I know the words would be appreciated by each and every one of them and especially a doctor I have worked with for 10 years now. He and his wife happen to be going through a rough time (that's putting it mildy) with their 13 year old son who is gay. The problem is not with them or their son, it is with all the bigots who have chosen to make their negative feelings quite known in a downright ugly and nasty way. I know Jonathan would love to read this and have his wife and son by his side while doing so.

You are more than welcome to share it with anyone you wish!  A bunch of my friends on Facebook actually shared it with me.  It resonated with me, especially with the onslaught of news stories about gay bullying... and I believe that bullying is a learned behavior... especially from incidents like the one in this article.  People are entirely too judgmental about others.

Amy, I already printed it out and am taking it to work with me tonight as a matter of fact. A copy of it is going up on the 'free for all' board in the docs lounge and I am giving one to my friend. I also sent the link to about 20 people so far and will do more tomorrow. I am just so glad you put that on here. It cuts to the chase, IMO.

My cousin showed me that article. I think it is amazing! I made SURE my mother-in-law saw it since she is soo anti-gay! I just do not get some people at all!

awesome article!! love it... I wish there were more mothers like her... I will do exactly the same with my twins if they want to dress as a boys one day. Nobody has the right to judge anyone!.
