I'm glad you mentioned something to the manager.  Sounds like they were definitely in the wrong if they had no idea what was going on.  There is no reason why you guys should not be trusted staying inside.  Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise and you'll be promoted to be a supervisor that stays inside!

Glad you said something.  So how does that work when there are customers in the store if everyone has to follow the supervisors outside?  So the customers can stay in and possibly steal because none of the employees are in the store?

That's rediculous. Do they not think.... hey, there's two of us, why don't we go smoking at different times outside so others don't have to stop working..... DUH!!! I can't believe they smoke in the building, that just makes the whole place smell horrible. I'm glad my little town has a city ordinance prohibiting smoking in public buildings. It doesn't bother me that people smoke but when everyone else has to put with it sucks, I personally am allergic to smoke so I like the ordinance. Surprisingly no one made a big fuss about it. The smokers just said ok we understand, I thought that was really cool. But I guess I live in a town where respect for others is still popular.

I really need to rant for a second. I went to work this morning at a job that I've only had for about three weeks. When break time came my coworkers said "we have to leave." Well I in turn said "why whats wrong?" They were all like we have to go outside because the supervisors both smoke so we can't stay in the building without them.
Okay...I may be wrong in saying this but what the F#$%#&*#&% is going on here, ya know.
Since when is it right for me and the other nonsomkers to have to go out and sit in the cold (50 degrees and raining) just because they want to commit suicide!!!!

man i would be so P.O. ed. i dont smoke either. that would really get me mad!! they should go outside , not the nonsmokers. stupid people.
