10 benefit from a power nap
« on: October 31, 2010, 07:44:26 pm »

1.   Less Stress
2.   Increase alertness and productivity
3.   Improved memory and learning
4.   Good for the heart
5.   Increase cognitive functioning
6.   Get motivated with excercise
7.   Boost your creativity
8.   Makes up for midnight tossing and turning
9.   Protect yourself from sleepiness
10.  Better Health

There's proof that catching a few zzz's in the afternoon is beneficial to your health.  Your brain needs to rest every now and then.  The brain can refresh itself with just a short 20 minute power-nap and "go like with a full tank of gas"  Find out more about power napping:

Those all nighters for school are killing me slowly, I just cant nap... something about falling asleep with the sun up, although I can sleep right on through the sun.

ahh, naps! i love indulging in naps on my day off,
just for the simple fact that i CAN. even if i'm not
tired, i grab my blanky and snuggle up on the couch
and doze off... because i can. its quite satisfying!

sometimes, i don't want to get up from them though.
and naps turn in to bedtime  :sad1:
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

You can feel so well rested after a 25 min powernap, it's amazing. Make sure u brush your teeth when u get up. Yes even though its 25 mins. u still need to be fresh lol

Sure I'd be all for a little siesta but it'd take me 20 minutes to fall asleep and then I wouldn't want to wake up.

I use to, but now for some reason I can't power nap.... My naps end up being hours and when I set my alarm for a few minutes I feel even more tired than before I went to sleep.

Okay. A 'power nap'. I guess when I'm babysitting and the baby can crawl as fast as I can walk, and every time I get out my laptop, he's there wanting to help. Everytime I go to iron, he wants to rock the ironing board. Everytime I open the frigerator, he tries to climb in and throws something out. I loooove him soooo much.  But, back to the power nap. When he falls asleep for 15 or 20 minutes, I try to get one with one eye open, so I can 'power up' the rest of the day and keep up with him. :binkybaby:
