Accidents are going to happen, they are still learning to catch themselves, I would not worry and good luck

They will have a bunch of accidents at first. When they start to have an accident, your supposed to rush them to the potty to finish, but it is hard to see when they have a pullup or underwear on, so I did that 3 day potty training thing (where they go bare bottomed) with my son. He peed on the floor a few times, but seeing himself pee on himself finally made him realize what he was doing and that he needed to hold it to get to the potty. He had just turned 2 when we started that. It worked really well and was completely potty trained in 2 months. My daughter is 18 months now and she sits on the potty, but I don't think she realizes the whole concept of it yet, so I'm gonna wait a bit with her. She likes to sit there and say pee, but doesn't know how to make it come out. Good Luck!

I wondered the same thing when my son was little. Then it dawned on me he would get so busy doing two year old boy things that he would FORGET he had no diaper on until it was to late. I made sure to remind him about every 20 min for a few days, and I made it a huge game. Every time he went to "tinkle" he got to make a huge show of spitting in the toliet, (the only place he was allowed to spit) and then aiming at the "target" when he tinkled. It worked amazling well, and taught him to go in the toliet not on or around it like so many little boys tend to do. Hope it helps, remember kidhood is fun, play.

ACCIDENTS AND POTTY TRAINING ARE THE NORM!! SOME CHILDREN ARE MORE EASIER TO TRAIN THEN OTHERS. I FOUND THAT MY SON WAS EASIEST BECAUSE HE ENJOYED GOING TO THE BATHROOM WITH HIS FATHER TO MAKE BUBBLES IN THE TOILET. BUT GIRLS ON THE OTHER HAND WAS MORE HARDER BECAUSE THE FEEL AS THOUGH YOU ARE PUNISHING THEM AND IT TRIED MY BEST TO MAKE A GAME OUT OF IT BUT SHE WASN'T BUYING IT! EVENTUALLY SHE GOT TRIED OF BEING WET AND STARTING GOING TO THE BATHROOM!!

Well it just seems like after he pees his pants he should be telling us, and he doesn't, we have to find out for ourselves.

Okay, so I'm trying something else, too - I ask him whether or not he wants big boy underwear or diaper - is this okay?  That way I'm not forcing anything?

I remember when I was trying to potty train our daughter that I would get so stressed.  But her pediatrician said something that made me feel better.  He said, "Don't worry.  She will be out of diapers before she goes to college!!"  I don't mean to make light of the subject, but I think we all tend to worry too much about potty training.  Most children, with a little guidance, will be potty trained without too much trouble.  And, after reading your post about venting, I think your husband should help with the boys.  It's so much easier for them to learn from their dads.  (I've forgotten already whether you said you had boys or girls.  :) )
