I forgot to even say my favorite. I really can't choose one either because it's all good. I am the one who does all the major holiday meals at my home, so by the time I get done 'sampling' everything as I cook (starting very early in the morning), it's almost hard to eat a huge amount by the time we sit down - but I still do! :P Others bring/make side dishes, so I always enjoy those just because I didn't have to make them all for the 20-25 family and friends at the table. I really love and appreciate just having us all in one place for the day and night, so it's not all about the food.

I love sampling while cooking.  Probably why I love to cook!  LOL

Seafoam candy is an old fashioned name for it.  Any chance of you passing on the recipe to me?  I know thats asking a lot.  We could exchange it for like.....my 101 year old pie crust recipe?  Or my own (personally made up) recipe of black bottom coffee cake, that has won recognition.  Nobody else has it.

Sure, LOL, I'll send it to you on FB.  Let me dig it out first, though.

Okay, thanks

Its my grandma's recipe, and she got it from her mom...so the recipe is about a century old.  She called it "seafoam candy" though.  She also gave me her recipe for gingerbread...I craved it while I was pregnant.  The best thing to keep the morning sickness away!

Amy, your Gingerbread comment makes sense.  There's something in Ginger that settles your stomach.  I drink Ginger Ale when I'm flying.  I have trouble with the take off, and when we are descending to land (a bit queasy). After reaching cruising altitude I'm fine.  Just those two instances.  A couple Ginger Ales take care of the problem.

Mmmm...I want some gingerbread now...haha.  I know, its the best thing for a case of the queasies.  I also sprinkle it in our food because my husband has IBS...ginger and peppermint seem to help him when his stomach hurts.  That, and cutting out the greasy red meats.  He married a vegetarian, so double bonus for him!

Ha ha, double bonus for him.  I drink gallons of Peppermint Tea.  It aids in digestion also.  I love hot Peppermint Tea in the wintertime.  I've already laid in my supply of favorite teas.  That's about all I drink in the wintertime (hot teas).....and water.  Warm gingerbread with whipped cream.....yummm

:cat:  I just love the whole family together with the typical turkey, potatoes, gravy, dressing, chicken & dumplings, corn, mac & cheese, rolls, casseroles, pies, cakes, cookies, etc.!   My absolute favorites, though, are cranberry sauce with the meal, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert!

Annella, I love the peppermint teas during the winter, too!  My daughter and I like to drink hot teas on cold winter mornings, and then do some baking for the holidays.  And we can't forget the scented candles and the music playing in the background, either!  We also enjoy making gingerbread houses.  We started that when she was little and continue even now that she's in her early twenties!
