Has anynoe tried mystery shopping?  I was thinking about trying it but I was wondering if anyone has tried it and how much money can you make doing it?

I used to Mystery Shop for Shoney's. I was paid with free meals. I've used others as well, but I've never paid a company to get mystery shopper information.

Those should be deposited directly in the shredder. You can deposit them into your checking account, but expect to not have anything left in there the next day.

Mystery shopping is REAL, i'm with a company called maritz research, I got $10 to check and see if the gas station I.D.'s people or not. I got paid by check 2 weeks later, not a lot of money but you get your money for 1 minute of work!!!!!! Here's what you need...

1. No money, you don't have to pay for a mystery shopping program
2. A good camera so you can take a picture of the address number, which is used to prove you were there
3. Attention to detail
4. Car or money for transportation

Please continue to ask questions :)

P.S. I got checks in the mail for 2,000 to 3,000 dollars before, the check will end up bouncing and you'll owe the bank 3,000 DO NOT CASH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done them and have NEVER paid to do it.  I don't do it much atm.  generally, the checks are $10-$30 for very local assignments.  camera is important.  writing good reports is vital.  I'm still on many lists and get offers daily.

These are a scam. Ritter associates does a great mystery shop and I've had success with them. You should never have to use your checking account or anything like that in order to do a shop. You will be ripped off in this scenario that you've described above.

Most are great and I've had success, but some are very late on payments or will require you to have a certain amount to withdraw before they pay. Most use a paypal type deal as well so you don't have to give them any direct deposit information.

Mystery shopping works, but the amount of money you make depends on the company.

We should compile a list of good mystery shopping companies.

Unfortunately, I don't know any, hence why I think a list would be nice.

So far we have Ritter Associates. Has anyone tried them and are they a good place to do this?

Most of them are scam. I receive a check for over 4000.00 and they wanted me to cash it and send them 3500.00 back to them and keep the 500.00 for my self. But noone want to cash a out of state check. Then later on I found out it was a scam.
