Is the recession really over?

What is your opinion regarding news saying that the recession is over? Do you believe that it is. I know that I haven't seen anything to prove to me that it is.

I am not too sure if it is or not.  I have not heard of as many layoffs and the jobs seem to be picking up.  But they are not as good as they once were for sure.

I dont think its over, main stream media says that to make every one think its gettin better. If they tell you we are still swirling around the hole in the toliet people will get depressed and worry more and make situation worse. just my 2 cents.

I honestly don't know much about it, but I do know that I made over $200 on about $4,000 in stocks in the past like 3 weeks.
Seems like something's going right to me.

I don't think so.  If it was, there would be a lot more people working and a lot less collecting unemployment money from my tax dollars.

I really don't think it's over. If it was I would have a job by now. I got laid off from Verizon back in December of '09 and have been unemployed ever since. Times are hard and I really think it's going to take a while before our economy gets back on track. :dontknow:

The recession is definitely not over, too many large and small businesses claiming bankruptcy/closing up. Too many unemployed, homeless and generally starving people out there at the moment.

It's over only if you believe what the media tells you.

Depends on what recession you are referring to. If it is the current one, you know the one thats worse than the great depression, then you must ask yourself this one question. Are times worse than the Great Depression?

I highly doubt that, because my mother with over 14yrs. of legal experience still can't get a job.  :BangHead: :BangHead:

No, it's not over. the economy is getting worse and worse as Obama piles up more trillions of dollars of debt we will never be able to repay. In the short-term, it might seem to get a little better, but in the long term our economy cannot survive.

Over?  not so much.  But i think if people would realize that the world isn't coming to an end and spend in a manner that their means would normally allow, the economy would, at least in part, fix itself.
