I am an illustrator, and just learned to do everything on a Mac. When I started illustrating, it was (gulp) 1994 and I had Illustrator 3. HA! Now I am on Illustrator CS3 and will be starting a new job on Monday using CS5! I can't believe it! My last job I just left INSISTED that I use only Corel 14 on a PC. Talk about learning all kinds of new things. (who is the WORLD uses Corel now-a-days! I had never even heard of it!)

Good luck on your new job.  I'm glad someone is finding work in this economy.  You'll do great!

It is a matter of preference. I prefer PC's.

Is Apple as tempermental as the PC. I want to know if Apple computers crash or contact viruses as much. I love Apple because the computers run smooth for me without to much fuss.

Apples will "crash", and they can be hacked into, but not as easy as a PC.  As far as virus's? I've never had one yet with my Mac's.  Always had them when I had Window's based PC's years ago.  Apple products will also cost you quite a bit more.

No argument there.  Mac's have a learning curve for sure.  However, after I got acclimated with my Mac, I'll never want another PC in my life.

Mac,

And then run bootcamp on it and run windows for when you need it.

No reason for a PC, since most applications have been ported over to Mac now-a-days anyways.

I try to stay away from Windows based applications.  While you can run them on a Mac, there are glitches to do so.  They are compatible to a point.  Most of the similar software can be gotten through Apple anyway so it's hardly worth running both.  However, I know some who do.....I just don't myself.
