The road fee in South Carolin is the same way my husband's car taxes would be $24 withouth the $25 road fee that is ridicules

I don't know about yours, but the roads here in Pawleys Island, SC aren't worth $24.  We get pot holes a foot deep and two guys in an old white truck drive up and shovel in some rocks and tar and hop back in the truck and drive away.  After about five cars drive over the hole and fling the gravel-tar all over their paint, the hole re-emerges.

i hate having to pay taxes on the taxes i have already paid for. it is just stupid how much money the government gets form everyone every single day. yet the economy is suffering and people in office are getting bonus. when are they gonna take that money and help out those who need help, like the millions on homeless people. the sick who can't afford their own meds and the elderly who live without hot meals, nurse care, and doctors visits. they have to choose between eating and medication. i just think it is a shame.

I could not have put it better myself.  I swear it seems like everyday "the rich get richer and poor get poorer" Oh wait that's because they take all the money from the poor to give to the rich.  Unbelieveable!

I agree 100% They raise everything then wonder why no one can get out of a hole well duh I got to pay for water,stickers to drive,plastic to drive,insurance to drive and countless other crap that makes no sense way to keep me going pay check to pay check and hoping I may be able to have some fun money this year grrr

Paying for ice at a hotel/motel.  I know of one establishment in East TN that charges for the ice in the ice machine.

I think it sucks that you have to pay for water.  What will the charge us for next?  The air we breathe?

I think if they could find a way to tax us for the air we breath they would, it's scary how much we are taxed.

Stuff that should never have to be paid for would be NATURAL RESOURCES, like water, electricity, gas, non-cooked food. I understand clothing because people actually make those but everything else shouldn't have to be paid for.

How about all the cable channels that you don't want that come with the package.  I only watch about five channels, but to have basic service it cost $65 a month and that is only for the first six months.  Why can't you pick only the ones you want and pay for them and let the rest go out of business when they have to support themselves based on who watches them?

I think we pay about $60 for registration every year per vehicle. I paid $35 to renew my license. The money (I was told) goes to the city fund for road repairs and construction, things like that. They have signs on the side of the road that say stuff like..register your vehicle to keep texas roads safe, or something or other to that effect. So I don't know about any other state but I suppose if the money is going to improve the streets I drive on I won't complain too much about it.

I do agree somethings we have to pay. It just doesnt make sense. For an example, My kids and I went out to eat. i asked for 3 cups of ice. The cashier told me that would be an additional  30cents. I couldnt believe it, for a cup of ice. You know to me that is a sign of the times for sure.
