Stuff you have to pay for that is dumb!!

  I went today to renew my tags and license and HOLY CRAP I dont get it I have to pay 58 dollars for a piece of plastic to be able to drive and they want everything they can to prove who I am gee.Then to get my damn car tags which is a fricking sticker and piece of paper its like 142.00 (cause I have two vehicles both expire on my birthday) I mean that is crazy how much we have to pay out for this stuff..Anyone else find it a little high??

Wow in Pennsylvania I pay 36 dollars for the sticker on just one car. As far as renewing my license. I don't know how much that costs yet being that I'm only in my 2nd year of driving. But yes, it is ridiculous how much money we have to pay for a plastic card. I swear that plastic costs less than one cent to make.

The road fee in South Carolin is the same way my husband's car taxes would be $24 withouth the $25 road fee that is ridicules

I woke up early today, and since many channels were still showing infomercials, I watched an episode of Pet Star. This series probably ended a long time ago but at the end of the episode, they kept the information on how a person can try to get onto the show. I found it dumb that this thing included a fee.

wow, what state do you live in? i live in california and was floored when my husband had to renew his license in july and they charged him $31! i mean, i remember getting my license (like 12 years ago) and it cost $16

as for tags, yeah that always seems like such a rip-off. it costs us $68 a year for our car and what i hate most about it is that it is due in december, at the same time as our AAA membership and auto insurance, and of course christmas

right??? my husband works at an extrusion plant where they melt down recycled plastic bottles and form it into these huge plastic sheets that they sell to other companies to make everything from disposable salad bowls (like they use at fast food places) to "green" toys to the hard packages that things are packaged in and he says that because thye are recycled materials that his company makes 1500% profit on the rolls they make. how ridiculous is that?

I know!! Its outrageous!! I had to pay $91!!    when I first bought it in 2007, I had to pay $576.00... I about cried... no, wait.. I did cry

I too am really pissed because this year I had to pay $106.00 for my sticker for my plates.  The governor let everyone know the price had increased via a slip of paper in the notice to renew your sticker.  It is truly a rip off, and I am fed up with the so called laws that the politicians pass under the table so the extra money can go in their pockets.

I agree the sticker and paper probably costs 70 cents it is truly a rip off

i hate having to pay taxes on the taxes i have already paid for. it is just stupid how much money the government gets form everyone every single day. yet the economy is suffering and people in office are getting bonus. when are they gonna take that money and help out those who need help, like the millions on homeless people. the sick who can't afford their own meds and the elderly who live without hot meals, nurse care, and doctors visits. they have to choose between eating and medication. i just think it is a shame.
