Hahahaha! Awesome! THanks for sharing! Just looked it up and found another one-
http://nerdcityonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/8-bit-mega-man-pumpkin.jpg

How'd you find that link though? We should make a "pumpkin carving thread" or something.

Eh...I was just browsing Instructables because we're carving a pumpkin this weekend for our daughter...with window decals, a witch on the door, spiderwebs on the porch and all...

We could always do a Halloween decorations thread... I found this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-House-Goblin-Peeker/ and I wanna make it so bad!  I also found a recipe collection for gross Halloween foods...

I'm actually helping plan a party to raise money and toys for our local Toys for Tots and was surfing for ideas.  I'd be more than happy to share what I find with anyone interested.

Here is our pumpkin!  We'll be carving another in a few weeks, so we can have one out the entire month.

Thats awesome AmyRouse! I love it!

Here's one I did last year. I kinda messed it up though, but I really liked it.

You did an excellent job, I can't see where you messed up at all!  I can't carve a pumpkin very well, I have a recipe for pumpkin bread though that's a killer (no pun intended)!

The one for Falconer really does relate to him....lol  (Mega-Man)

I think my husband may try to recreate your pumpkin for the halloween party/charity event we are attending this year.  He is responsible for carving 3-4 pumpkins and I'm making some appetizers...I really want to do a puking pumpkin with guacamole, but I'm not too sure how well it will go over.  Oh well, more guac for me, right?  ;)

You'd go nuts over mine, then.  My sister in law is from Honduras and she taught me how to make it.  Best guac ever!

I never could carve a pumpkin very well, even with the patterns you can buy at the store! We always just do the classic carve. The fun part is roasting the seeds along with some marshmallows in the fireplace along with some hot coco! We only do one pumpkin, a week before Halloween and we make it a big family deal, it's fun  :)

Here is a pic of last years pumpkin carving, marshmallow roasting event. (we had just lit the fire and my husband and I were left doing the gross work of seeding the pumpkin while the kids enjoyed the fire)

We don't celebrate the "meaning" of Halloween, or it's origin.  We have a "Harvest Festival" for our kids, and call it such.  Carving a Pumpkin is just that....carving a Pumpkin.  Roasting Pumpkin seeds, and marshmallows, is just that....roasting Pumpkin seeds, and marshmallows.....oh, and drinking hot chocolate.  A family having "together" time.

While our children are discouraged from partaking in the trick or treating, we replace it with the festival just for them, with as much candy and gifts they would receive going door to door.  The little ones don't understand the "why" we don't celebrate Halloween, but we can't just take it away, without replacing it with something else (So they don't feel left out).  We do it every year.

There's nothing wrong with having a substitute, and making it a tradition, in place of a Holiday you don't approve of.  You can make your own traditions.  A lot of people don't know the origins of some Holidays.  Until they do, coming down on anyone with your own convictions is not good, and puts people on the defensive instantly.

Or you could explain the origins to them in terms they can understand and add, "People believed silly things back then.  Now we just celebrate for fun."  Works for all holidays.  ;)   That's what I would do if I had kids...
