Sounds like my 2nd grade teacher... She only had one rule in her classroom: Respect Yourself and Others. That basically worked for all other classroom issues. If you were talking in class, fooling around, etc., you weren't respecting your fellow students that were trying to learn. If you cheated on a test, you weren't respecting the student's hard work that you were copying your answers from, nor were you respecting yourself for an education. If you chewed gum in class, you weren't respecting your fellow students (again distraction), nor the maintenance staff that had to clean up the used gum. And on and on... First day of class, she told us what the rule was and we spent the rest of the period listing out all other school rules we could think of, and she'd show how it all came down to respect. So actually, all I really need to know, I learned in Kindergarten 2nd Grade.

RESPECT is a good song from Aretha Franklin but for me, most times I show respect, I get screwed over behind my back so RESPECT is shown after it is earned not before. I don't care who the person is.
