What I am asking about is the Debate/Discuss section and I am wondering if there is something wrong with my browser. I keep getting nothing but 3 threads/topics with 'recent replies' from almost 12 hours ago, one thread in that is locked (AGAIN), and the rest of the page is just a bunch of useless spamming that really ought to be in Off Topic!

The 16 new threads are totally aggravating, to say the least, and now I actually wish Admin would come in and do a massive delete by everything this poster decided to spam us with. I am so disappointed that we are now back in the 5 year old "I'll show you guys!" mode. I spent a couple hours on one of my professional medical forums and came back here (throughout the time on there) to see IF anything had changed here. That's why I am asking my question. I also brought THIS forum up to the people on there without naming it and they were all basically appalled that one member could be such a 'pest' and not be kicked off or at least banned for a period of time in hopes they would learn something and stop the behaviour when allowed to come back.

That's all I wanted to say other than, once again, hate being extremely disappointed and pretty P'd off at this.

  I'm not seeing the "3 threads/topics with 'recent replies' from almost 12 hours ago" but I am seeing everything else you mentioned.  I wouldn't blame FC Admin if they decided to eliminate the forum altogether due to the craziness everyone has been having to deal with.  It would be so great if when we decided to use the "ignore" button to ignore someone that that feature also worked to "ignore" every thread that was started by that person as well because that "5 year old stuck in the "I'll show you guys!" mode" needs a serious "time out".

I definitely agree with Sheryl here. I also didn't see the "3 threads/topics with 'recent replies' from almost 12 hours ago" but something should be done. Its just ridiculous. I don't want to lose the forum, but something needs to change.

I think FC is good in that they aren't micromanaging every thing in the forum and they do warn that there will be things posted that you disagree with. But I do think it's worth taking notice of the disruption that is being caused and how it looks to new people coming in. I'm not sure I would stay if this is what I witnessed when first coming in. I wouldn't have taken the forum seriously.

I went on vacation last week, and even though I tried to check in, I found I wasn't wanting to post like I did before because I had to go through four pages of new threads to find the one to which I wanted to reply.  If I sign off for a full 12 hours, its the same deal lately.

I fell in love with posting on D&D because I could have some intelligent discussion with people (like my scriptural discourse with Sherene and Annella), but its been over a month since I've been able to really have that in depth intelligent discussion because I'm spending all my time weeding through things that should be posted in Off Topic.

I agree with you guys and i love to get on here and have intelligent discussions as well.

If you look at the timeframe of when I wrote what I did, you'll see that probably an hour later(?) things changed. I posted and went to bed to get my 5.5 hours of sleep (woohoo ) so I am ready to work tonight. I just found it so strange that for over 4 hours this morning NONE of you were on here. I don't think that has ever happened before and it was really weird not seeing 'my morning people'.

502mania: As far as the cat photos, I don't even own a cat, I have 3 large dogs. I have had that pic for a long time, the cat is gorgeous (has kind of a 'bitchy' look which fits my personality at times ) and love the irony of it. Maybe some day the only mice cats will even have to catch will be electronic.

Why do you think you run things around here? This is not your forum...so quit telling people what to do...that is the Admin's Job.

Funny, never said I ran things around here and neither did anyone else who has huge problems with you and says it - in case you haven't noticed, you have alienated and pissed off every single person who knows you around here.

"not your forum"? Nah, wrong! I am a member and it is as much MY forum as it is everyone else's who belongs to FC. Admin doesn't have the time or desire to try and monitor you and your BS. He has basically said it is up to us to monitor ourselves and our behaviour. The majority of us understand that last part, we just need YOU to get with the program.

The atmosphere in the forum really has changed from when I started which has only been a month ago. I also enjoyeed coming in and even just reading what others posted a lot of it had me thinking different towards certain issues. It has gotten where I tire of looking for the better topics. I see a lot of topics get repeated after only a few days instead of some one looking for the topic and posting in it. The only exception is I can understand where some one restarts a topic that has been closed for whatever reason. Another issue I have found is where some people will post off topic in threads but when it is done in theirs they get upset.

The idea is that we are all adults on here and as being adults should not have to be monitored 24/7.

yeah, i agree Lusie, The foum has changed, i haven't been here long either. I was pretty happy to find some intelligent people on here that i could d&d with. Most forums are just ignorant teenagers acting stupid and immature. I just hope it will stay the way it was when I first joined.

I enjoyed reading what you had to say at times also Elisa. There are just times {you are not the only one} where when some one posts their opinions or views they are told they are wrong and basically need religion. There have been topics non religion related that religion is brought up and no one can get it off of religion. Sure people like to debate religion but they dont like to see theirs constantly bashed either. {As I said this is not just you and not meant maliciously just stating how I have felt at times.}

When I first signed up, I loved the forum and I enjoyed discussing God and all but omg things got ugly fast. I have been called such horrible names and it made me mean and bitter. I wasn't a troll at first but the constant abuse probably turned me into one. 

Believe me I completely understand. But you are way to young to have what I call "the lonely old lady syndrome". Some times the best thing to do is just ignore that post dont use a come back on it. Some people are waiting for the smartalek come backs. One thing that I finally realized after many years is that you have to have peace within your self before you can have peace in any thing else. Once you find that inner peace things might annoy you for a bit but then you get over it.
