Punishment for DUI

I just read the story about the video game developer that was killed by a drunk driver- he swerved the car to protect his pregnant wife's side of the car and ended up taking the force of the crash on his side, killing him. Everyday there's another story about drunk drivers causing deadly crashes and more often than not they are repeat offenders. I think that the first offense should require the breathalizer- ignition device and if it happens again, you just lose your license- no suspension, just gone, here's your bus pass. Giving these people third and fourth chances is ridiculous! What measures do you think need to be taken to get these people off the roads?

It should be 1 strike and their out.  Hard labor in jail.

The laws for drunk driving have got to be changed.  There are too many people out there who know that they have a serious drinking problem, yet drive drunk.  That auto becomes a weapon just like a gun.  One DUI is too many.  People who drink and drive need some serious jail time and a suspended license for not less than a year.
