Does anybody know who USGoldline is?

This company called me called USGoldline, claiming to offer me a card to repair my credit. They at first
said the card wouldn't cost me anything then later on after they got my Wachovia bank account number they said
that I would have to pay a one time fee of $250, and they will report good to the credit companies 2 points per month. I tried to give them my account number attached to my all access prepaid visa, but they noticed it was a direct deposit account and not a bank account. So they pried my bank account information out of me saying that I was giving it out every time I wrote someone a check anyway, and they just wanted to make sure I have an open an active checking account. So I gave him my account information, then next he wanted me to talk on a recored line and give him my birthday, and social security number. I gave him a birthday that was not my real birthday, and when he asked for my social security number I said "No thank you" and hung up.

Do you think I should go to Wachovia and change my account number immediately, or is this a legit enough company that they wouldn't sell my information to a third party?     I'm leaning toward changing it.

If this wasnt so sad i would be laughing...are u serious???....no red flags came up when they offered to repair your credit???..only YOU can do that....and that takes time...your best bet is to take ur gullible lil self over  to ripoffreport dot com and read what they have to say about that company...

from what i googled about them, i would damn sure call my bank if i were you..your about to get hit...and hard...

First of all I would contact your BANK IMMEDIATly and let them know what happened. so they can watch your acct for suspesions charges on your acct. that or have them give you a new number for your account. I can not belive you would give out that kind of information over the pone. only ones you should do that too is gas electric co. phone, etc.. never  give that out over a sales pitch. wow. well live in learn hon. were all allowed to guff up it how we learn. but hurry and call your bank ty..

got me so curious over that im going to have to go to ripp off to read that one lol.. and ty for letting us know about the rippoff.com and very good advice about always cking ripp off first. rules of thumb.

one more thought .. have you tried to google it to see if they have a website? I would be curious about that one too.

Yes, it's http://www.usgoldline.com. I just went to it, and went under contact us ( the rest of the site seems empty) and got there number for sales, and heres what did:

I called them pretending to be interested in their card, and had them pull up my account, or what info they had
on me, and told them my address was wrong, and told them another address, and told them my birthday was
March 5, 1984 which its not, and lastly I told them another wachovia account number, and a different phone number.
So I think I successfully sabotaged their information on me, but I still don't feel completely safe. Maybe I should call the bank.     oh well live and learn.

whats his bank going to do?

based on the info he provided.... there is NOTHING they can do.

NOW.... did he/she give the number on an ATM card or the bank account number?

if ATM card.... cancel that card asap and get a new one with a different number.... call the bank and make sure the older card is cancelled. (thats not always automatic that the older number/card is cancelled)

if ACCOUNT number.... close out that account NOW... open another.

jump on this today.... odds are.... if they already have the money, you will not get it back.

for the future.... HANG UP THE PHONE whenever someone is talking about account numbers over the phone.... unless you know exactly whats going on.
