This a great question.   I have often wondered myself.  I was not expecting 2 million.   I was expecting the answer to be several thousand but not 2 million.

To clarify, it's over 2 million registered accounts since we opened in 2005 (this statistic is on the front page).  Not all of them are active, plenty have not been to the site in months or years.
