they are both looked down upon - because of their influence on kids. What do you think of that? i believe they are only negtively influenctial to them because they don't understand the concept or views expressed through the shows. They just think it's funny because a baby talks with profanity or the excessive use of dirty references

I absolutely love both shows.  They are not appropriate for children, but there are many many cartoons that are inappropriate as well.  It is up to the parents who allow their children that watch these shows to put them in the proper context.  What kills me is the amount of kids running around quoting the show not knowing what they are really quoting.  I do not believe children should be sheltered, but I wholeheartedly believe that if they are seeing something they should have a basic understanding of what they are seeing.

I enjoy old south park episodes not so much the more recent ones and I love Family Guy, however I would NEVER allow my children to watch them, I think they are adult cartoons, like happy tree friends and to a lesser extent invader zim.

yeah, i agree sflynt, kids that age don't understand the views represented or the true humor in it. they just hear "*bleep*" on a cartoon, and that makes it a riot. "heee heee heee that dog said *bleep*, what a riot!!!"

I do not like South Park, never have. But I do as well as my oldest child love family guy. I think if you talk to your children about certain things seen on t.v. you might not have an immature child on your hands.

I agree, good point.  and each child is going to be different.
