Over the last several months their has been a number of food recalls. Eggs, Cereal, Tyson Deli Meat,Ground Beef etc. Does any of these raise a concern to you about our food supply?  What do u think?

there have always been food recalls, I think the regulatory agencies are now just making this information more public.
Food in general always has bacteria, dirt, etc..... you should really know where your food comes from and make sure to clean it... store it properly, etc. to minimize the risk of food borne illnesses.

also -- our food travels a lot farther from farm to table now --- and many steps in between.  Each additional step exposes our food to more potential hazards......

It does seem like there are more and more recalls here lately than ever before.  It kinda makes you weary about what you want to buy.   and not just with food but also with childrens toys and other things.

I have always been concerned with recalls especially with food.  What really irritates me is when your already paying a fortune for these products like eggs for example.  A week after the egg recall I go to the store and eggs are 3x the price they were before the recall.  As if its our fault and we should be punished for the factories tainting our foods.  After hearing about that particular brand being involved in the recall it really makes you doubt paying 3x the price for a brand that was involved.

Yea I think that the recalls are just made more public than what is use to be. But I get my eggs from my hens. So it dosen't affect me there.

The govt needs to do their job, so we won't have all these recalls.

What are you talking about?????
IF only you knew how little the government can do.
AND this is one of the ONLY developed countries that has this problem.... we need to stop Large process farming -- go back to more locally grown items.
People have gone away from the family farm --- this is hurting our food supply
we demand more of the land (meaning more production) with less space, etc.
We have SO much genetically modified foods -- people trying to make things stronger -- nearly all of our corn is no long natural -- but genetically modified as well as MANY other things that you find in the grocery store.....

The government isn't in control -- it is US .... the CONSUMER.  We need to demand more of our food producers

I totally agree. I remember growing up on the farm and how much hard work was involved but during the winter after you had tended to the garden, harvested your fruits and slaughtered your hogs and cows the food tasted so much better than what you get in the stores. We had are own chickens and the neighbor had milk cows so we were set. Definetly less exspensive that way and you knew what was in what you were eating.
