Housing Market
« on: September 03, 2010, 08:23:11 am »
I'm interested in how the housing market is doing in other cities/states. Here in Frankfort, KY the market is really bad. Home values are decreasing instead of increasing. We were thinking about selling our 1.7 acres to get a smaller place that we can handle since we're both disabled now, but the way the market is we'd never get what it's really worth out of it. How is it where you're at?

Here in Southern California the housing market has really been hit hard.  There are forclosure signs everywhere but hopefully it will pick up soon.

It's probably very similar everywhere across the country...

i too hope it will pick up soon, but not too soon considering this is a prime opportunity for my husband and i to buy a house. we were never in a good enough position financially to be able to do it but with so many houses in forclosure and selling way below value in our area, we're thinking about going for it! :)

I think all cities have been hit hard by the recession and the housing was hit worst, since a lot of people lost their jobs.  For some people they owe more on their than its worth in the market.  This is really terrible because this is the dream of everyone to own their homes.  I pray that things get better and fast.

Our market has been hit hard too.
Now is a great time for purchasing a home if your credit score and bank accounts allow for it.... BUT if you have another house to sell (which is my situation) it is NOT a good position to be in

The housing market around the University I attend has been hit and prices are EXTREMELY undervalued.  Great time to try to move in and buy some properties : )

Well, we are doing pretty good here in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  Houses are selling, but not at the high point.  Most people are selling at around $10,000.00 off of what they actually want.  I am glad we don't have to sell for some time.  Our daughter is in the 7th grade, so we will be in place for at least the next 6 years.  Hopefully, the market will have improved by that time.  If I were you, I would wait it out if at all possible.  Hope this helps.

Momma if you have the chance now, do it, you'll never regret it! We all deserve the dream.
