Hip Hop Today
« on: September 02, 2010, 11:05:32 pm »
Before i start i will say, i am not a hiphop fan. i am a fan of SOME hiphop artists work. but, does anyone agree that hiphop has lost its original stanards and intents? it used to have views and a way of life expressed behind it. ex. tupac, nas, etc. they got a message across. now a days its all robotic voices, just saying different similies over and over that dosen't add up to a point of any kind. seemingly ignorant

I don't listen to that RACKET, so I can't give an honest opinion. BUT I am sure that you are right. I have heard some that people play in their cars, and sometimes on commercials. I think they only use about 10 to 15 words that they repeat over and over again. The 2 most prevelent are the N word and MF. Oh let's not forget the great respect that they have for black women. You know the bitches and ho's they refer to so frequently.

I don't know where they get the right to call that music. In my book it is just a very irritating noise( A RACKET).

well as tupac shakur said, there is a difference between a woman and a *bleep* or hoe. but the problem is - most rappers are ignorant and think that profanity is a part of hiphop. and they misuse the style to disrespect everything and glorify themselves. real rap dosent really exist anymore. and your right, lots of it is RACKET. but rappers like tupac, nas, bone thugs n harmony deserve credit for actually being ARTISTS .

This probably doesn't come as a surprise, but I've been reading on cracked.com quite a bit today, and found quite a few things that made me think about this forum.  They actually have a document with the worst rapper names ever.  I quite enjoyed reading it...sure some others will get pleasure from it, too.
