Native American Sovereignty

Do you think Barack Obama will honor the promises he made to tribal leaders during his '08 campaign and after his election? Just perform a search regarding his campaign and Native Americans, and you should find a pretty comprehensive list of promises made by him to tribal leaders.

“This is not something we just give lip service to,’’ the president said. “We are going to keep on working with you.’’ as quoted by Sheryl Gay Stolberg in the nytimes.com blog The Caucus, "Obama Promises Help to Native Americans", Nov. 5, 2009.

I certainly hope he does.  I am not Native American; I have some Native American ancestors, as do a lot of people in the area of the country where I was born.  However, I think it is time Native Americans are given back something of what was taken away from them in the last few centuries.

The govt needs to stop jerking around with the Native American people and give them back what's theirs.   :peace:

Don't hold your breath........

Do you think Obama will give the Seniors their COLA (Cost of Living Allowance) this next year?  You know, the same one they have been getting for the past 37 years and he took it away last year?

Don't hold your breath........

Do you think Obama will made good on his campaign promises?

Don't hold your breath........

Do you think the bail-out money given to banks will actually benefit the public, or will go to top executives of banks, Wall Street, and Gov't owned insurance companies?

Don't hold your breath........

Do you think Obama will get a second term in office?

Don't hold your breath........

Honestly, as much as it pains me to say. Yes he will.

The number of uninformed voters will be the same in 2012 as it was in '08.

They love Obama for the simple fact that he isn't a Caucasian 40-50 something year old male.

Whatever his qualifications, or lack thereof, or past acts in the office won't be held in high regard, but by a select few of the actual informed populace that plans on voting for who will best serve our country and not voting for him because "HE BELIEVES IN CHANGE AND HE'S NOT WHITE"

It's sad but true. Most elections are choosing between the lesser of two evils, in terms of choosing who to vote for. Do I think McCain could have done a better job?

Probably not.

He fits the demographic of a President and has the war vets backing him, but he wouldn't have done much better than Obama probably. (All my  personal opinion, of course)

And because Obama doesn't fit the "Presidential Demographic" and people think that he will bring a difference to the White House, a majority of them will vote for him yet again to drive this flaming airplane of a country even farther into the ground. (Again, I'm not insinuating that someone else who was up for election could have pulled an FDR and pulled us out of the flames, but voting for someone strictly on their demographic is just asinine, and if anyone wants to say that he wasn't elected for a majority because of who he is, your lying to yourself)

Regardless of who is office, we hold little hope of much change concerning the recognition of our sovereignity.

I mean, really, we garner a fraction of a percent of any vote, while those, who are mortified that we may" further erode the moral fabric of your country" enjoys an overwhelming majority of votes.

But, hold on Ms, Bigot.....do you study demographic trends?

As do I, but it is pointless.

As a great movie once revealed to me: "Stupid is as stupid does."

Sigh.......

My former boss had a coffee cup that said "stupid people shouldn't breed".  He also had a sign that said "Don't be afraid to ask dumb questions".  He was so funny, kept us laughing constantly.
