Sheryl-- I'm curious as to your knowledge of these apparent 100% perfect predictions. To be 100% perfect in a prediction would have to have every single aspect of one prediction outlined to the millisecond (example- at 4:03:28 this friday I will open the door to my car and a kite will hit me in the head). Are these predictions like that or is there room for skepticism and speculation?

Its a blue and purple kite, Falc.  Get it straight. Geesh.

Common sense is not that common with you!   Never said your histroy book was writen by a grade schooler. Just stated that the generic predictions you blindly hold as fact were written for the simple minded to come to their own conclusion...which you clearly have.
I don't share the same belief(s) as you do so of course that must mean I have no "common sense", am "blind" and "simple-minded"   ::)    lol    ...like Believers haven't heard any of THAT before     lol   um, well ok if that's the BEST answer you could come up with...

I have no idea how I made it through school, graduated, went to college on a Federal Woman's Scholarship, graduated, worked for 32 years, raised a successful son, and managed to be financial soluble, with such a simple mind and no common sense.

Wow Sheryl, how did you fare in your life, and happen to be a business owner to boot.....on your simple mind?

Woah woah! Let's not be so humble! lol I certainly smell a red herring. You can still be a decent gear in the system and be ignorant of the truths around you when it comes to philosophies and belief systems. For all sides, lets keep it the argument at this level and not get so personal.

I was merely answering a post saying Christians were simple minded for believing the Bible.  It was also referenced earlier that the Bible was written by a grade schooler, and we had no common sense, and we were blind. (read previous posts).

It's a common stereotype that as Christians, we are weak minded.  As far as the "Red Herring" (attempting to divert attention from the original question), uh, I don't see it.

The post was personal depicting these things as are common for Christians.  I was merely listing what God has allowed me to do in my life because He gave me the wisdom to do it.

What gets me, is you tout your philosphies, Atheistic views, evolution, etc., and then when we state our position, then it's.. whoa whoa!.  Isn't that a bit hypocritical?  Kind of what you were telling me I was on another thread.

Ya know, sometimes I don't mind talking with you.  You make good points and drives me to research.  However, the double standard is getting old.

Any book that promotes enslaved philosophies or resists other reasonings is both simple-minded and close-minded.

You made the argument go from talks about philosophies and beliefs into personal accomplishments in your life for the sake of saying you aren't simple minded (not calling you it...I'm just presenting the red herring). It's like that one SNL skit with Will Ferril where he's arguing with his family and he just yells "I'M A DISTRICT MANAGER IN CHARGE OF 23 PEOPLE! I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!" Even a hobo can have much richer and more interesting philosophies than a ((insert devout religious follower here))-- the physical/material tray means very little. This is getting too big of a simple concept though.

Touting skepticism? I don't see the problem with that. I'm skeptical even of the things you listed! There is no double standard here-- This is what is known as an argument. If you're going to claim things that have either already been falsified, are based on very loose grounds, or are simply impossible, you've got a problem with reasonings. Thus the "woah woah". I'm trying to have one with Sheryl in this thread for instance.

Oh yea, I can't wait to see how things will end......
especially all the religious prophets running around with their bibles saying "I told you so!!!" which of course, the end of us has Nothing to do with the bible, Its just a natural occurence, and you either deal with it through evolution and survival, or sit there and die.........
It's gonna be a great show, and the trailer has already started..........

Annella, you're such a precious gem.   I've noticed my "simple mind" has taken me farther than many people that claim to possess so much "common sense", can see so "brightly", have such "open minds" will ever go.  ***I know what I was accomplishing before Jesus was in my life...things were ok, nothing special.   I see what has happened since I asked Jesus to "guide my footsteps".  I try to do things on my own but I wasn't trained on every aspect of running a business and don't possess alot skills needed to keep a business growing.  I've made mistakes only when I didn't ask Jesus for help.  There are things that I had no clue how to accomplish but when I prayed the answer & know how, the "idea" I needed came right to me and there is no way that would have happened without some divine help.  I will not, cannot take credit for what Jesus so clearly does in my life.  I'd rather be a "close minded Christian" than me an "open minded anything else".

I've had a thought I'd like to toss out to everyone- Let's live as if the world will Never end and live as good humans instead of evil, taking care of each other instead of killing with word, hand or deed. Could we?

I'd be willing to bet most of those that are afraid or think the world is ending soon are believers of some sort of GOD.
Not being a believer there is just no evidence of such so I continue to live my life happy and  :bs: free.... ;D

When will these stupid end of the world/2012 threads end! ::)

You can believe or not believe I just would rather not worry or be concerned either way I just try to live as best as I can enjoy every thing as mush as possible what ever happens happens Can we control any thing????? Life is too short it has been said so just enjoy.
