My father is a veteran and so is my uncle.  My uncle was in 3 or 4 wars and also a prisoner of war.  I am very proud of them !

I work for the Veterans Administration and love hearing the stories about their lives.
My dad served in the war.  He was injured and received an honorable discharge.  He never really talks about it though.  I do know he lost a few friends and even one of my uncles while serving.  He probably should have talked to someoene but I don't think he ever did.

I forgot to add my Uncle! He fought during the Vietnam war, and was wounded several times.

My husband is a Marine. He's still active duty for about the next year. He may be getting medically discharged, though. He hurt his leg out in Afghanistan. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy he got injured! He can't be deployed again!

My Uncle Percy was killed in Korea, my dad was there too, survived, but died stateside at 35 from complications in the war.  He's buried in Golden Gate National Cemetary.  I married a Navy man, who's father was a Navy man, our son was Air Force for 10 years.

I LOVE vets!  I thank all you vets from the bottom of my heart.  I enjoy such freedom because of all of you.  God Bless America!!!

Thanks for your support! I appreciate all the comments. It was the longest time of my life when he was gone. There was one point where he couldn't call for two weeks. I was barely able to get out of bed. He ended up finally calling me at 2 a.m. one night! I was so relieved!
