Is there any way we can be reassured we are going to Heaven? Are there any passages from scripture that shed light on this subject? What words of encouragement can you give to those who fear Hell and love God?

I know you don't like me.  I have many different beliefs, and I push your buttons.  I hate to see anyone struggle like this, though.

If there is anything I have learned, it is this: there are no guarantees.  I believe what I believe because it is what comforts me, what feels right to me.  Someone said to me once that the phrase seeing is believing is wrong.  I tend to agree; you only see after you believe.  My life came together and made sense to me when I found my religion.  I may not have chosen the "right one", but I chose the right one for me. 

Scripture regarding a messiah in the Tanakh (or Old Testament for the Christians) states that in every generation a potential messiah is born.  That messiah will be a great leader and there will be peace on earth.  It is an old Jewish saying that there will be peace on earth when everyone in the world says "amen" at the same time.  The only heaven I believe in is the one here on earth that we create for ourselves.  The Tanakh, the Bible, and the Quran say a great many different things about heaven...but those books were written by men who claimed divine inspiration.  It is up to us whether or not to believe.  If believing gives you comfort, that's amazing.

As for Christian scripture...

John 3:14-16
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

No.  Do you seriously think god would waste all of those passages in the Bible telling you what NOT to do if a person needed to "just believe"?

100% of people don't go to hell.  We live in a physical universe that follows strict laws; our bodies are also physical.  Supernatural elements cannot exist within a natural world because they would make the strict physical laws null and void.

I've been thinking about Hell a lot recently. I'm not quite sure why, but the idea of hell scares the crap out of me. Yes I am a Christian, and yes I believe in God, but I often find myself wondering whether or not I'm going to hell.

I pride myself in being a very open person but not impressionable. However, the past few days, I've been thinking about hell and thinking about myself and what if I'm not enough. There are so many versions of protestants out there. Some say that, to get to heaven, all you have to do is believe that Jesus came down and died on the cross to pay for our sins. Others say that there is no way to know if you will go to heaven -- you just have to hope and pray that you are apart of the elect. Then there are some that say that you don't know if you are the elect or not, but, if you do many good deeds, you can somehow be assured or guaranteed that you will be apart of the elect.

That's the only thing I dislike about this: that there are so many versions. Which version is the true version? How can I know if I'm going to heaven or not? When I think about the afterlife, it's so hard for my brain to wrap around the concept of forever. If I go to hell, that means that I will be there forever. The pain will never stop; I will always be screaming, and no matter what it will never end. Really think about it. It's so hard for the brain to wrap around such a horrible unending situation. We grow up saying things like "till death do us part," or "until the end of time," but there is no end!

I'm just really stressed out about this, and I don't want to be stuck in hell for all of eternity. I love God, and I believe that He is the only savior, but how can I assure myself that I'm going to heaven? Any ideas? Any scripture to help me out?

The only way to be sure is to confess Romans 10:9 If you believe that Jesus is the son of God, that He died and rose again on the 3rd day as a substitute for you, me and all of our other brothers and sisters then you shall be saved.  There are a series of books that I have read and am now reading again by Mary Baxter (A Divine Revelation of Heaven, A Divine Revelation of Hell, A Divine Revelation of The Spirit realm)  all of these are good and will help. But the best experience is by living this thing called life, going thru and depending on God to pull you thru.  Once you go thru then you can be an awesome witness to others.  Our main goal is to witness and do our part to save other brothers and sisters by letting thme see the Christ in us.  Have a great evening.

First - I think you should know you are not alone. I think all Christians struggle with their faith from time to time. You need to realize that those thoughts are from the enemy. If you believe in God then you have to believe in the devil. There is a Spiritual War going on since the time of Adam and Eve. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy!! He puts the thought in your mind that "well maybe I'm not "good" enough to go to heaven.     Listen to the Holy Spirit!! You don't have to be good enough!! That is why God sent his Son Jesus to die for us. All we do is believe in Him and turn from our fleshly, sinful nature. and we can live with Him in heaven for eternity.
Second - You asked about scripture, The Bible is the living Word of God and is full of His promises. So I suggest reading the Word daily (especially when you have doubt creep in!!) My FAV!! Scripture is Proverbs 3: 5+6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not into your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct (and make straight) your path!!
-Last thought as I was praying because it has been a long time since I had a fear of dying or hell fire, I find it better to focus on the blessings and the promises than the “What ifs” That’s why God gave us His grace and mercy!!

Answer: For me, this question's primary focus word is "reassured". To that end, I say YES, you can be reassured. Every religion in the world will "reassure" you that you are going to Heaven. Each one believes this way, or that way, and if you were to devote yourself to one of these ways, than YES you can be "reassured."

Secondary Question: "Is there any way we can be GUARANTEED we are going to Heaven?

Answer: Absolutely NOT, IMHO.
