Money Saving Tricks
« on: August 01, 2010, 03:57:44 am »
Does anyone have any odd but good ideas of how to save money?  I say that because I've already thought of and am doing the obvious things, so I need some other ideas.  And I mean - I am a huge penny pincher.  I am even starting to watch how much toilet paper I use - it's that bad.  I drink water, no pop.  I'm eating hot dogs and spaghetti.  I need something more...

I just made my own laundry detergent, and it works better than anything I have ever bought at the store, and SO MUCH CHEAPER. I am just sick of all the money I wasted before. I sued the Fels Naptha Laundry bar soap, Washing Soda, and 20 mule team borax. Just google Homemade Laundry detergent. You will find several recipes.

I made over a thousand dollars totally FREE last year from banks. I simply took advantage of their FREE checking account promotion bonus. Just got my 2nd $100 from Bank of America last Friday. Took that $100 out and am opening 2 more accounts with different banks. Wainwright Bank is offering a $200 savings bond.

I only have one bank that I use. These others are just for the FREE money. I read their offer and requirements and do exactly what they ask. I set up a file and run it like a business.

I add about 1/3 water to my shampoo, and it works just as well, but goes 1/3 farther.

Never waste money on fabric softner. I don't need the chemicals that is in it, and my clothes are soft when I dry them in the dryer. I begin to take them out and fold or hang them just as they begin to get dry. NEVER LET THEM SIT THERE IN THE DRYER AFTER IT HAS FINISHED .

I paid $10.00 and took the AARP Defensive Driving Class that was offered at our Senior Center. It saved me 10 percent on my car insurance for 3 years. I have to take it again in 6 months.

I keep a good supply of Colloidal SIlver in my medicine cabinet. It is better than any antibiotic. It has saved me so much money and misery.

I keep White Willow Bark in my medicine chest. It is the natural ingredient that they copied and made asprin from. BUT it does not harm your stomach like asprin does, and works GREAT.

On joints that act up and hurt----- At night, I take a good bath, rub the joint with warm castor oil, and spray on WD40, and rub it in. SOUNDS CRAZY---I know, BUT IT WORKS. A lot cheaper than the rhumetisim doctor.
