EX Smokers
« on: July 08, 2010, 04:10:58 pm »
My husband is a smoker...I'm an ex smoker.

I want him to quit and he says he wants to quit but every time he tries he ends up picking it back up.

I was able to quit because, someone told my daughter when she was about 5 years old that her mommy would die if she kept smoking. So the next time she saw me light up she threw herself at me and put a death grip on my leg and screamed and cried that she didn't want me to die. A bit dramatic but it made me realize I want to be around for my children for as long a possible and I certainly don't want them to smoke when they are older so I wanted to set a good example. That was enough for me but not enough for my husband.

Does anyone have any tips that maybe could help him?

Sorry, I dont have the quick fix.  I quit back in the 80's.  I was one of the fortunate ones. i just put them down and after about 3 days i had totally quit.    I have heard that hypnosis works for some people.
