I like both, but take out food is too expensive for what you get for the time being.  We are cutting back on stuff like this.  Things are too uncertain out there right now.  There are too many people without work and I am trying to watch it and save more, just in case I may be one of them.

I'll take a home cooked meal any time. Now if I could just get someone to cook it...

I think it depends on the situation. My kids are grown and gone and I live alone. I still eat 99% of my food from home, but I see nothing wrong with picking up a carry-out meal on the way home. I work from home, but if I had to drive to work every day I would probably get more carry-out. You can't really make a hamburger for $1 at home.

I agree with those who stated that home dinners are better (much healthier) than take out foods.  We are living in a time where we don't know what companies are doing with the prep of food before sending it to the supermarkets/restraurants. But just rest assure at least your prepping your food you know the cleanliness of it and not getting any behind the scene issues such as dropping on the floor and not cleaning and serving it to customers.  Just a thought.    ::)

baking my own pizza at home sure is one of the most fulfilling thing I can do as a mom. Not only i can pick up only the freshest and healthiest ingredients but I can also make sure that no preservatives or other bad stuff are added on it. I can make the tastiest and a really delicious pizza that my family will surely appreciate and enjoy.

Homemade dinners are definitely better for you, but when you don't like cooking much like myself its hard to get excited about it, so my family compromises. We go out to eat twice a week, the rest are at home. Some of those are easy meals though! ;D

home cooked is always better, eating out, they always give about 5 times as much as you should eat. That is probably why we have so much obesity in the US. My spouse and I always split 1 order and we are usually full after consuming it anyway. Also, you can't control the amount of salt in foods. I had a margarita at ChaChos Friday. there was so much salt in the liquid part (I like it on the rim, however, I always sip from the same place to keep my salt intake down ) of the drink I could hardly choke it down. My blood pressure went sky high for days before settling down. I take medication for hypertension, but the salty margarita completely overwhelmed the meds.

A home-cooked meal is what I missed most when I started college. Eating out is expensive and can be quite unhealthy. Now that I'm married, me and my hubby are cooking more and more. It's fun to try new things and do it together!

i insist on making a home cooked meal at least 6 nights a week. one of those nights might be something simple like quesadillas and soup but even that is better than the food you would pick up in a drive thru. my family does not miss out fast food though because through the wonders of google i have discovered some awesome recipes that allow me to make food that tastes just like the chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a and chicken planks from long john silver's. mojo potaoes from shakey's, cheese toast from sizzler, super birds from denny's, and french toast sticks like the ones from carl's jr are some other things i can make at home, that are healthier and cheaper in the  long run

Well I like to make recipes, it's fun for me, but it's expensive.  Not only is it more expensive, but you have to take the time to cook it and clean the mess afterwords.  Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, the only plus I can see is making healthier foods from scratch.  Even if it doesn't specifically say it's a healthy recipe, it will usually be healthier than anything you get from take out.

I prefer to make meals @ home. Even a quick meal made at home is healthier that fast food, I think.

A home cooked meal is the best meal!  It's just not healthy to have carryout all of the time.  We Americans have gotten to the point where convenience has gotten way too important and we think our needs should be immediately satisfied.  Our health will pay because we don't want to take the time to make a healthy meal.

I agree.
