Why do people pass gas in don't say excuse me?

They do it in the store in they know they did it and don't say excuse me. Than there is the ones you tell say excuse me an they say anytime or more room out than inn. What do you think?

I've never had this problem, I wouldn't tell a stanger to say excuse me I would look at them weird though,lol.

I would probably laugh if I heard it. I assume people don't want to call attention to it in case no one noticed.

I think its because they are embarrassed and who would want to draw attention to the fact.  Its a natural body function, but somethings are best left in silence.

i thought i was the only one who noticed that. and the only one that was bothered by this. my boyfriend does it all the time and im like you are so nasty and he hits me with id rather let it out and be ashamed then keep it in and bust a vein

Okay I can see this from both sides yes someone should say excuse me but if you ripped one around strangers would you want to admit it was you or run LMAO..Sorry had to..So yeah it is a polite thing to do but some people are embarrassed to fess up to strangers that they just farted

If it is real loud they are embarrassed and don't want anyone to know it, and if it is no noise at all they are still embarrassed because it is a foul odor. I don't like the walking farts. Someone fart in the bathroom and leave out the odor is still there when you walk in and leave then someone else go in and think that was you. Or someone walk by and fart and leave  and you are behind them and some one else is behind you and they think you are the one. Those are the baddest ones. Some people want to get away with it. If their dietary habits were more healthy they would not fart at all.

Most just don't care.  They are either embarressed or just totally nasty person already.

Are we talking about the loud tug boat sounding gas or the silent but deadly ones?? lol...because I don't think I've actually ever heard gas being passed but have smelled
the horrific scent of one lingering in the isles of a store. Now, some times I get the urge & one must not hold it in or they will get severe stomach cramps. Therefore, I try to find an empty isle & graciously get the wind out or I will faint & then run like the wind before someone comes & sees me & smells it at the same time! LOL...but they usually don't smell!

Kimber?   What???  You funny!  I try not to break wind where anyone can hear OR smell.  Sometimes, your among people and you have to toot (can't help it).  I try to be very quiet, and pray no one smells anything.  One time I was with a man I barely knew.  We were in those first stages of getting to know each other.  He had good manners and was always impeccably groomed.  One night, we were standing outside talking about this and that....and he rips one off.  We both started laughing so hard, it was hilarious!  He said he tried to just squeeze it out carefully, but once it started, it had a mind of it's own.  That definitely broke the ice.  We have become the closest of friends, and every time we remember, it sends us into hesterics! 

You definitely say excuse me if your among anyone, and your not doing it on purpose.  There are those that just tear em off, one after another and think nothing about it.  That....is bad manners (putting it lightly).  We all have bodily functions and sounds that are natural, but there's decorum if and when they are to be shared....lol  My pet peeve is someone who hasn't bathed in ages, and your trapped with them in an elevator or somewhere you can't get away.  The BO smell is enough to make me yak.
