migraines
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:59:39 pm »
I have suffered from migraines for most of my life, but they have gotten much better in the past few years. I still get them occasionally, but very few and far between.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, gets them quite frequently. He's very limited to what he can take because he's military. Today, he was given Imitrex and it has had no affect on him.
Does anyone have any suggestions or home remedies we could try? These migraines are debilitating. I can't stand to him suffer this way, especially knowing quite well what he's going through.

Believe it or not, I took nyquill. When I felt one coming on, I took a dose of nyquill and was usually ok after a few hour nap or good night sleep.

I know what your talking about I have them really bad my doctor gave me a new one thats out called Relpax.  This is sooooo good I can take one and within 30 minutes to one hour I'm good to go.  Have him ask about these.  Its great no side affects for me at all. I hope this helps you and him.  Tell him thank you for his being there for us (America) .

I got one earlier and the sound of my daughter's cry made my head feel like it was going to explode. Her daddy got her while I clutched my head and fell asleep.

You should pray on this. God does heal.

His get worse after a workout, which are always quite strenuous. He started using an ice pack on his neck, but he says he's not sure if its working. Alieve helped after the Imitrex last night, but not to the point of fully eliminating the pain. He's getting them far more often lately, and its quickly becoming a concern. I mean, he's going to the doctor! He doesn't do that!
I appreciate all the help and advice on this topic. Thanks a bunch!
